Wasn't that in this last issue, although I think it was FJCs not Rav4s. I wasn't going to renew my membership this year, till I saw Charla's write up on the RubyCon. Cruiser content in trails is getting pathetically low (I know, I know, write something for it then....)

Psst. I'm going to let you in on a little secret. (Jim calls FJC's Rav4's)

Yeah I used to get all pissy about the TT content, but I have come to realize it is what we make it, so send something in already. And even though the is a lot of new vehicle content, they do go out and cover some old school stuff too, which would otherwise not get covered.

There is a meeting this Thurs. and I'm sure the topic will be under debate.

I've sent a message to Matt to find out why you can't post on the list. Are you sending mail from the correct address? Anyway, I'll let you know what I find out.

Oh, maybe because I have my sfu alumni account forward my emails to my hotmail acount, then when I send out, I assume it goes out as the sfu alumni account, but it doesn't, goes out as my hotmail account. Damn SFU, the cheap assess, kicking us off their surver. Can you have him include me as dchramosta at hotmail.com. Thanks,

Request sent. I've asked him to remove your current addy.

If the TLCA changes to the Toyota 4WD A I for one will not renew. Not that I have anything against the larger picture. But, I'm not in the TLCA for the larger picture. I am in the TLCA for the Land Cruiser side of things. I have been a silent supporter of the TLCA for years. I was going to renew for another 3 years...but if this debate is going on...I guess it will be year by year for me.

I like that this is a Land Cruiser association. I like that the bylaws allow other makes, but that main focus or thrust of the individual clubs are TLC ownership.

I don't buy into the buy/own/consume mentality that "if it's not growing something is wrong". Perhaps the TLCA is not dieing. Perhaps the TLCA is dropping off those who are not true believers. Maybe a small core group of like minded people from around the world is not such a bad thing.

We might not have a gloss magazine. We might not have a "growing" membership. But we will probably be left with those you want to hang with.

I'd like to hear from Bryan. He is a member that seems to be a strong supporter of TLCA, a good guy, and definatley a person I wouldn't like to push away, just cause he owns a toyota pickup. Wonder if the name of the TLCA, and the strong Landcruiser back ground is a big problem for him?

Thanks for bringing this up with the rants Deny .

I don't see any reason the association should want to change to something it currently isn't. If mini truck and "RAV4" owners appreciate Toyotas 4wd roots (ie old school Land Cruisers) then they are already welcome to be part of TLCA. Sucks that the membership and Toyotas product line is moving away from those roots and that gets reflected in the newsletter and club. The old LC will continue to die off, but there should be that much more appreciation for those that are still going strong.

I originally joined TLCA because I wanted to attend an official event (RS 06). This year I'm going to another event so I did a 2 year renewal on my membership. I think I wouldn't if it was just a US based T4wdA club :meh:.

That's my point Deny. Clubs do have the ability to vote in non TLC owners, and non Toyota owners. That's where the "good guy and gal" portion comes in. They've found a group of people they connect with, and the main focus of the group is true to the core "Toyota Land Cruiser". RMLCA and Coastal Cruisers have done this.

I joined the TLCA to get to know other Land Cruiser owners. I joined the BC4x4 to get to know other 4x4 folk and also support the larger community (reminds me, it's time to renew that one again).
