I liked stealing your ideas better.

How about a crash course in basic first aid for the kind of things more likely to happen when off roading?

Or a little trail fix tips and tricks for things that we’ve come across to get off the trail?

Ok. Again i can not speak for the Rubithon event . But as far as the Wagon run we as a group can do some special things . So with that said . I have reached out to Tony and he has agreed to give the Wagon group a Trail Talk with Tony historic Tour . :) Thank you Tony as i think this is a really nice gesture and something we will all enjoy . I think we will set this up for Fri . Pancakes with Peezy is a Go . as we get closer i will have a accurate head count . So plan on bringing a box of pancake mix and syrup . I have Emailed Darin to see if he would be down to give a class on Radio Programming and such . waiting to hear back . As far as EMS stuff that gets a little tricky with legal issues. But i have no problem talking about what i carry and why and what i would do . . I am going to reach out to Georg and see if he would be interested in a class on ? I duno maybe changing a axle or something . One thing we all need to remember is that for some of us we do this stuff everyday and the Rubithon is our vacation also . Keep the ideas coming .

I encourage you to lead a short hike out to stone house... perhaps after friday breakfast and trail talk. great way to see a bit more of the property and stone house has a great story (the family that lived there). Also the 3rd spring for those that have to check all 3 off their list.

While this area is not known for gold, I've been meaning to bring a pan and so some prospecting.

We would have a corn hole tourny if we could get boards (sets) brought in... but horseshoes on Saturday is a lot of fun.

and I would like to see a Karaoke machine for Friday night. Oh ya, I'm singing!

I'll bring a pan and a little portable sluice, 1/2 expended & 1/2 ripple

Ok 7 weeks out . A few things .
1 ) On Friday the Wagon Run group will be having a Pancakes with Peezy Breakfast . So bring a box of pancake mix and some syrup . Also we will have a Trail Talk with Tony Tour . Thank you again Tony .

Most that will be running the Wagon run will come in Tue night and camp at loon .

I think the conditions are going to be excellent . They got a little snow this weekend but i am not worried at all about that . Last year they had record snow and the trail was fine in June . With that said use the next couple weeks to go through your equipment . Run your winch , go through your recovery gear , Go through your first aid stuff . Do any final projects . As soon as i get the final roster i will be sending out a email to the wagon group .

I'll be camping at the spillway Tuesday, probably getting there somewhere around 2pm. SNOTEL site at 7600 ft near the Rubicon lost 7" of snow in the last two days, so it's going quick. Re-spooling my winch tonight. Fixing the last couple little things this weekend that don't need to be done to run, but would be nice to have done anyways. Then just remove the rear seats and load the fridge

Hi Guys- sorry to jack this thread, but figured it was the best spot. I am looking to upgrade my Yoko Geolander M/Ts for this trip (33.5") to either a 35 or 37" tire. I love this tire for its performance and style, but they have started feathering or possibly delaminating. I have not been good at rotation, and learned thats critical for this tire. Also, I had a compressor break and had to drive a long distance at low pressure, around 20s. May have been part of problem. They still work great, just loud. My only experience on trails is with K02s and these. Pretty happy with both.

So.. not sure if it is really necessary for an M/T for Rubicon? Was thinking of running an RT, like the Kenda (tall/skinny 35). This is not my daily, just an adventure/camping/trail rig. But the wife would be happier if it were quieter. If M/T is the best option, then so be it. thanks!

Personally, I can't imagine trying to drag my Cruiser through there without a more aggressive tire. I've seen it done relatively problem free, but the benefits of most M/Ts over an A/T in sidewall lugs and resistance to tearing open won me over. But I'm also running a really heavy tire. If you're looking at a hyrbid, I do like the Wildpeak R/T. The Cooper ST Maxx hybrid on my wife's Sequoia is louder than my STT Pros by a lot, so I wouldn't do those lol. I guess it depends on how much of your time wheeling is dedicated to doing stuff like the Rubicon if it makes sense to just keep an M/T on it or not

Happy to have to join us

Does anyone know the path we are taking on this run. Going through Sluice box or another route?
Paul I am the trail leader for this . There are 3 different Sluices Old / Big / Little . Normally with the larger groups we try to take some of the easier lines But it has really come down to our group and the rigs and ability . If we as a group want to try something we certainly can . My main goal is to make sure everyone has a great time , and gets out safe . Most likely is after we get everyone into the Springs. Then some of us will go out on Friday to run some harder stuff . Last year everyone had great rigs and everyone could drive . we cruised through everything . and got into Buck Island before 3 . The year before i think we got in around 5. 5 is my target time . With that said i have got into Buck after mid nite before .

Also every year the trail changes And as the session goes on . I think this year the trail is going to be wetter . We may even encounter a little bit of snow in some areas ? We will just take it as it comes :steer:

Ha, he said snow.........
I do not think there will be any at least nothing to worry about . But we are 6 weeks out and I do not think anyone has punched through yet . And I guess last week they got 2 feet . . I am just happy that the solid axle boys will be paving the trail for us . Will be smooth sailing 😃. For us Wagon run guys we will just enjoy the trip
