I checked this out about an hour ago:

Toyota Landcruiser HJ61

Has rust in the front fenders, 2 small surface(?) rust spots on the windshield frame, and the frame is delaminating on both sides behind the rear rear leaf spring mount. Other minor stuff as well, but overall seemed decent for someone who wants one of these and has more time than myself to get it baselined and the rust dealt with.

When you compare it to what they ask for a ratfucked Bj60 it still doesn't seem a terrible deal.

A solid week or so of work tho for sure.


Mines pretty similar. Allegedly less mileage but I have suspicions about that.



It's never been my favourite truck but the question has always been what would I replace it with?

Gets 30mpg on a good day and I've spent the last 5years packing lumber and everything else in it.

I'd have to sell my hilux if I picked up a cruiser, which I would consider for the right truck, but this wasn't it for me. Although the brown shag carpet and 30 year old power everything did tempt me.
