I'm a bit confused...I've read that you shouldn't put 235/75R15 on a 5.5 rim and I've read it's fine...would I be better off with a 215/75R15 ...or 205 and let it go??

Great! Thanks!Btw I would highly recommend the Toyo M55 tires in that size
Too small, especially 205/75 and 215/75. Would look stupid. 33x9.50 or 33x10.50 is optimal.I'm a bit confused...I've read that you shouldn't put 235/75R15 on a 5.5 rim and I've read it's fine...would I be better off with a 215/75R15 ...or 205 and let it go??

Here in Finland stock size is been 7.00-16 (31”) for BJ40 and 7.50-16LT (32”) for BJ42.PS. Sure (slightly) bigger than the tiny 205R15, or the stock for Europe 205R16.
Correct, thank you Matti: in most European countries till 1980 the stock size for the FJ/BJ40 has been 7.50X16 (31.8 inch), mostly the non radial Dunlop Road Track Major. Top speed rating 130km/hour (80 miles). Here in Finland stock size is been 7.00-16 (31”) for BJ40 and 7.50-16LT (32”) for BJ42.
205R16 or 235/75R15 is 29”.
