So it's time to get my truck some new shoes. I've pretty much decided on a size and have it narrowed down to a few options-

Question is: do y'all have a preferred tire vendor, either online or local? And if online, where's a good place for mounting/balancing/possible siping? I can't imagine y'all do this at home (though knowing Mudders, you probably do...)

Thanks!

What size have you decided on? What tire?

What is your expected use for the truck?

What mods do you have planned?

Leaning towards the BFG AT, GY Duratracs or Toyo Open Country AT. All in 285/75r16, though I flirted with the idea of 255/85. Love the KM2 but don't think it's gonna be a good fit for me.

Expected use is DD/Camper, mostly onroad but some gravel, dirt, grass, occasional sand and snow (if snow is still a thing here). Looking for long-distance manners but also the ability to GTFO if need be. Basically a NYC Escape Pod.

Mods will be moderate and slow to implement. PO just replaced all shocks and struts with OEM so I'm gonna roll stock height for a while, probably a 2.5" lift after that. Armor up front (ARB) is next on the list after tires. Then lighting, then replacing stock roof rack, then rear hatch storage, &c.

I run toyo open country at on my dd, very good tire for the road, didnt let me down in snow this year, much quieter than bfg at

I was thinking about nitro terra grapplers for the NYC streets I wonder which one has a more rigid side wall for road driving.

I ended up with the Nitto Terra Grapplers, which I got over at OK4wd. Really happy with them so far. Driven them in snow, ice, rain, dry pavement, gravel, and dirt with no drama whatsoever. No mud yet, and no serious trail rides, but overall they're great.

What about Revo 2's? Are those worth looking at? My '03 stock 4runner needs new shoes too ^_^

Running those everywhere...on my 3rd set on two different trucks, and love them.

Going to pull the trigger on 285's in April.

Nice to hear the Nitto's are working out well
