Tire fitment...

Okay im not sure how to best word this, but im wondering if anyone knows of a place where you can figure out what size wheel/tire will fit on a truck at what heights(stock, lifted, etc).

Or if anyone can just answer my question of, whats the biggest tire size thatll fit on my toyota truck with only a 2in body lift? I current have 32x11.5x15 on the truck now and theres still good room. Would 12.5in wheels fit on my current rims as well?

There are just too many variables.

How sagged are your springs?

Have you cranked up your torsion bars?

What backspacing are your rims?

Have you pounded flat the body seams behind your front wheels?

As KLF said it's not that simple. Generally, tall skinny tires fit better than wide tires / wheels and the further a tire sticks out the more likely you are to rub

Here's one link for you -> What hits, what fits <- but take it with a big grain of salt, according to that chart I need 5" of lift to fit a 33" tire yet I only have a 1" body lift and have never touched the torsion bars or the body seam

Its an 86 pickup sr5. I cant really answer KLF's questions because i have not touched any of that, cannot find out if anything has been touched, and this is my first truck so im a noob when it comes to this.

Tire fitment is just a giant shade of gray... It all depends on how much of the body you want to modify... You want 38's with a 2 inch lift? Ok, but you're gonna need a sawsall...

If you're a noob, are you sure you need bigger tires? Do you have money to regear the diffs as well? Because over 33" it gets less and less fun to drive with stock diffs.... A truck on 28's with a locker can spank a truck with 33's and open diffs a lot of the time.

What are your plans for this truck? What do you want to do with it?

my opinion, the springs are not really sagging, except for the normal wear...the back end sits up abit higher like it should... torsion bars dont seem to be cranked up at all, and no pounding what so everof the body seams...rims... i have no idea

32x11.5 is a decent size for stock suspension. As stated above, start looking towards traction adders (locker, lsd, etc) first, but don't forget to add armor as you get braver with your trucks capabilities or it'll start looking beat in no time. When it's time to go larger than your 32's you'll also want to budget for gears (if you're lucky, factory Toyota 4.88 gears can be found in a junkyard for a decent price)

Not to mention bump stops. You probably would get some rub with those 32's at full stuff on a turn. My 31's rubbed on my 1st gen runner until I cut the lip off. I have 32's with 4.88's and lockers right now and I can go anywhere the rest of the group goes.
