A few years ago I was at my folks house in crofton, when something made the whole house rumble , rattled the windows and made my beer bounce on the table.
Turns out it was a tire explosion at the mill over a mile away. Some poor bugger died I guess, but unbelievable how loud and violent it was from that distance away.

i worked at a tire store as a kid and mounted and unmounted I don't know how many 10.00 20 split rims for gravel trucks we had a few blow when filling and then we got a cage. Went through a cage a year from a big blow out. Never over the max inflation. usually due to corroded split rims though.
Was a good work out pounding on the rim with a sledge to break the split rim free! Could do 8 tires on and remounted in 2 hours by myself. Now it would take me 2 days probably!
