I have a set of Rud 4X4 chains that I broke on a tree stump that was buried in the snow. These are the diamond type of tire chain. They are good chains just have to becareful with what is under the snow.

If they are Rud Grip 4x4's, RUD will send you a repair kit for free if you call the US distributor. Very hard to break but very easy to fix! Was this a rooted tree stump that you really throttled through? What part in particular broke? I cannot imagine what it would take to damage these things.
It was rooted and to much wheel speed. I got the repair kit and fixed it right up. It was on the side or side wall part of the chain. The chains are designed for normal use and not abuse.
I just bought a set of these. I have test mounted them but not actually used them yet. Again...this is the actual product Bill uses...they are not too heavy; relatively easy to put on even in a recovery situation; don't hog up too much storage space; they fit my 285/75-16 MT/R's; tough hardened links; only $193 for all 4-wheels worth....yadiyadiyadi
