Hey folks,

Just wondering if anyone has any tire chains they are wanting to sell or loan me for a week in March.

I'm planning on heading up to the interior (hwy driving only) to visit family and thought I should have chains for legality/safety purposes.

I've found a couple places to purchase really nice ones from ($300 range), but not sure if I want to bite the bullet just yet.

Thought I'd check here first.

Or maybe you've built your own...???

I just bought two sets for my truck, they might fit, in which case yes you can borrow them

Doesn't even need to be a 4x4.. just "M+S" or "Mountain Snowflake". I have my own reservations about them allowing simple M+S tires on the highway in winter (seeing how most if not all mud terrain tires are M+S and are not always that great on compact snow/ice)

Thanks Franken60, I may take you up on that!

As for whether they're mandatory or not, I looked on the gov't website and I think it's only mandatory for commercial trucks over a certain gvw.
However, with my entire family in the vehicle and the potential for white outs I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Bringing in two sets from Lordco...$127 ea. And $13 for tensioners. Probably not the same quality as the $300 ea brands, but the reviews online seem to be very good. I figure it's a cheap investment and that way I can create a permanent space for them when I build my own custom storage spaces in the rear quarters.
