This is the story of my LX570

I had my seat belt recall service done today at the dealership. While at the dealership, I had the ECU unit reset. So I can erase previous owner's driving behavior s. Not sure whether it helps or not.

Now get a pedal commander or the idrive throttle controller and you’ll see what the 5.7 is truly capable of. With 35s I don’t feel the need to regear. But there’s that mpg thing...

Is it safe to use iDrive? Given the drive by wire nonsense and adaptive transmissions , I don't like the Lexus algorithms that slow down things. They did it to my ES330.

Today I have asked Lexus dealership to reset my ECT (is that what you call the adaptive transmission? - sorry for being dumb) so I can make the car to adopt to my driving behavior. I heard different things on how to fake it to ECT - in parking gear give gas for 15 minutes with revving engine at 2000rpm so your ECT learns that you are an aggressive driver and adjusts the behavior accordingly (courtesy: the weird but likeable Scotty Kilmer). Is there a truth in that?
Does LX suffer from this ECT craziness? Does iDrive voids the ECT and make it better?
Greatly appreciate your inputs!

I too am considering the Pedal Commander. Rick at ChiTown 4X4 was just telling me they were going to order a few into the shop...

Good to know. How are they compared to IDrive that the other member mentioned? Are they safe?;looks like they are manufactured in Turkey.

Let me know how it goes with it.
