Is there a difference in the shift knob from a G52 trans (circa '85) to a R150F trans (1994ish)? For the life of me I can't get the knob to thread on!!!! Same metric thread, correct??? WTF?

A 0  job and I'm pissed. :bang:

Can't remember since we ended up just making a casting to make a new set for mine.

If it's any consolation though,

The shifters in my R151 are actually from an R150. My old knob spun right on.

I feel your pain. We've all been there.

Only two things I know it could be.

1st I'd check the threads on the shifter and see if the two are the same. You might be hitting the neck of the hole for the knob and your shifter just isn't grabbing the threads.

2nd, and I don't know how to say it, but I have a R151 with a Hurst T handle knob on it, via the previous knob... er, owner...

It spins around and I couldnt get it off at 1st. I though it was somehow stripped on there, and it being black I couldnt see the shifter itself spinning. Turns out the glue or that ever holds the shifter stalk on came loose from the shorter piece that joins it and shifts the gears... It's like a two piece shifter and it came loose from the bottom piece. :meh:

I bet that's the issue. I was in a hurry. Oh well, I check this. Thanks.
