This one says it will work for 2012-2015.....if someone tries it and it does let me know...
12.1"Android 6.0 Wifi Car Radio GPS Navigation for Toyota Land Cruiser 2012-2015

If your current Nav system has issues, this would be interesting to try. However, note the specs on these aren't all that impressive. The title says 1280x600 resolution (or 1024x600 which is what the specs in the ebay add say) is less than what my 7" Nexus had in 2012 (1280x800). I highly suspect they're focused on "cheap" and not necessarily "quality" or "performance".

I've been looking at wiring diagrams- this is really big job. It's probably doable, but I'm drowning a bit with all the detail. It appears to me (first pass) that the Multi-function display is wired into so many different systems in the car it's not as simple as removing the MFD and the radio, then connecting the new hardware. The diagrams are a little unclear- I can't even get a straight forward answer to all the wires connected to the MFD.

Conceptually, I'm thinking the wiring should look something like this:

MFD Connections:
  1. Audio System - MFD as the control head, amp / speakers connected down stream
  2. Climate Control - Wires (probably not the wiring harness, but the individual wires) are probably the same for the nav / non-nav
  3. Car Settings - Way to set the various car settings from the MFD.
  4. Cameras - ???
  5. Others?
From my perspective, if you can retain the climate control system connection and then connect the new hardware to the amp, we should be good to go. I would be interested in retaining access to the cameras, but that may or may not be possible. Vehicle settings would probably lost.

I can't tell if I'm headed down the right path or not. I'm also not sure if it's even knowable whether or not the vehicle systems would work as designed after removing the MFD and the radio.

G'day all,
I'm just working through a custom install on a 2008 Sahara. I have the pin-out for the new Android unit that was designed to fit a VX or GXL (.au models) I have the schematics for the Sahara head unit (thanks MadMarlon). Now I just want to double check the pin-out or schematics for a 2008 VX or GXL .au model. This will hopefully prevent any mistakes and frying of PCB components.
Alternatively anyone got a wiring (harness) schematic for a 2008 Sahara?
I'll post what I learn along the way - hopefully not by trial and error.
Cheers Gaars

I believe I do. I'll PM you
