Thinking about buying a 1998 Landcruiser.

That one in South Carolina has been for sale for a long time. There are a few weird things wrong with the interior, most likely from a dog chewing it up. AC wasn't working when they bought it, but allegedly they fixed it. Also has some pretty serious rust on the underside. I tried to talk myself into buying it because of the low price and the fact that it was an 03 without nav which is super rare.

But in the end the rust and uncertain history made me pass. They've had it Probably three months now, so maybe they're ready to let it go.

Forgot to mention, look under my profile at thread started by me and you will see a post titled how much rust is too much with photos of the underside of that car.

They are out there...

I just bought a 1 owner, 96k mile, 1999 with rear locker for $12K OTD. Pretty happy with my deal.

Nice deal!

In the southeast that rig would be a good buy. Probably old axle grease slung around. Check the boots for tears and for an idea on age. Check under hood for timing belt replacement stickers, check alternator is original and if not what brand it was replaced with. Replacement parts give a good glimpse into prior owner level of fanaticism. The 4.7 is n awesome engine so the miles would matter little to me. Good luck!
