Thermostat Housings

I've ditched the oil cooler on my 79 and the original thermostat housing is pretty much garbage. Can anyone confirm the earlier 68-78 top and bottom thermostat housing with work for my application. Thanks.

You just need to get the earlier hose that goes with it. Your simple elbow will not work properly.

@65swb45 I assume you're talking about the hose that goes between the upper housing and the radiator, not the small bypass hose?
