I love how 2-3 weeks turns into a month. Why can't people wrap their brains around the concept of UNDER-PROMISE and OVER-DELIVER.

Hey! I resemble that remark!

I am that to a T but for reasons Jason just detailed. I try to hold my own vendors accountable then guess what? It gets pushed, then pushed again, then a fxxx up, then a redo. Now it's a month behind schedule and I'm stuck scrambling to find another laser cutter that isn't a pile of crap. Rinse and repeat.

S, this is my biggest hurdle when working with others... I think they do it so they can get the business and then apologize or place blame elsewhere when they are questioned. One of the reasons I've gone through 4 laser cutters in the past 2-3 years... If its going to be 6-7 weeks, I'm fine with that, just let me know up front... Don't tell me 2-3 weeks and then start back peddling. It's the way of most service companies these days. Truly tragic. I absolutely hate to tell a customer a date and have to let them know a supplier is behind. I do all I can to keep communications open with my customers. They usually know the update the same day I do. Just makes for a more pleasant and professional transaction.

Did you take yours to Front Range or Ultimate? I think my 200 customer went to Front Range and he's already got his back and installed. He picked his up 2 weeks after you did....

Hell, I wish I had a coater around here. The closest one (that is decent and affordable) is in Salt Lake/ Midvale, UT area.

F***! Are you serious? Yeah, I took it to FRPC..... 2 weeks...... killin me bro.

I stopped in last week and got the typical, "It's been busy, we hope to get it to you next week." Again, c'mon people just tell me how long it's going to be so I can put the old bumper back on!!!!!

Well, it's green, unfortunately. It's my second least favorite color with burgundy being my least favorite. (no offense @hamishpotter)

And I should say that it is dark green...for now. I think it is going to end up mil spec OD green. My buddy owns a body shop and he gave me a price for my other 80 in khaki. Or maybe they will both end up khaki. I don't know yet.
Hey nothing wrong with green

I wouldnt change a thing,

Maybe we should start a laser and powder company Joey!

We've been in Chico for the past two days and heading to Redding tomorrow and Saturday. We leave Monday and will still hit Paradise and a few other smaller areas..

Redding gets ruddy HOT. Chico's not bad - a college town. Paradise is not a bad spot either. Have you looked any further south? Sacramento area at all? If you stay away from the coast the cost of living is pretty reasonable.

Looking forward to you being within driving distance. Any estimates on when you'll be back to building bumpers?

After speaking with the zoning/planning personnel in Sac and a few others... I need to look north in the more "AG" based communities to make a fabrication business more feasible. We are looking for now but still haven't ruled out Vegas, St George, or Reno areas.

For which series? I have a solid 8 weeks of pieces to make for my AU, Dubai and SA clients and then it will be back to most bumpers.

Listen Fawkers, quit hijacking my thread! :grinpimp::moon::rofl:

Seriously though, someone posted a complete PC shop for sale here in Iowa on FB. Booth, oven, and a bunch of other stuff.

But I have two really good powder coating companies here in town. I paid $100 for my rack and sliders to be PC'd.
