I worked within a mile of LC's and went there a number of times. I grew up on a farm with hogs and sheep and cows, so I'm used to flies. but not THAT many as are in that restaurant. They got shut down for a while about 5 years ago for unsanitary conditions.

Joe's is the place, and now a new one called Q39 and there is always Jack Stack.

@LS1FJ40, do you think you'll be coming closer to KC?

Nope. Regular rubber. I'm not a fan of silicone hoses. No personal experience with them but figure I've run rubber hoses for 24 years on my 92, rubber will be fine.

Silicone, while theoretically superior, lacks the repeatability and known factor maintenance techniques of good old rubber.

I used silicone for my PHH, and regret having done so, though I dinked with it and got it to work properly.

@rockstate45 and @BILT4ME im not certain that I will be coming through KC yet or not. I may end up going straight across 80. Or I may end up cutting down to Denver and across 70 and up. I won't know until the day before.

Dude, go through Denver and across 70. Hit up Tuttle creek in Manhattan and camp for a night (ORV and camping are both free.) Next morning, drive into KC for lunch (a couple hour drive) and we'll go get some BBQ. Just make sure it's a weekend or dinner time and I'll be able to join y'all.

I'm thinking about it. It won't be on the weekend. Could possibly be in the evening...

The locker actuator seals and PHH Kit showed up from AJIK Overland yesterday. As well as a patch to cover the stupid Texas flag on my Carhart jacket. Because F&$& Texas, except Austin!

They also banned background checks against convicted felons. So if you're an employer, it's illegal to "discriminate" against murderers, thieves and rapists. So, if you work there, watch your back.

What's wrong with weed?!?!

I'm alive today because of marijuana.

Back to tech...

Gates green stripe. I hadn't heard that. My guess is that they purchase a fair amount and you only use 2" so...

I just crossed the vehicle streams, I think. Gates is discontinuing some of their Green Stripe V-belts. I see the hose is still on their website. Plus I think NAPA has discontinued Gates Green Stripe and is selling NAPA Gold hose, which is... yep. Re-labeled Green Stripe.

Makes sense. A buddy of mine is the President of Apache Belt & Hose. There are only a few actual "manufacturers". The smaller companies all make belts and hoses for the bigger companies and label accordingly...
