I was planning on doing a cut-n-turn but for the time being think some shims from SOR for ~$20 might just do the trick.

Steve, before you order shims, I have some at the house that I won't be using. Brand new, ordered them from SOR not too long ago, but won't need them. I can try to remember to bring them Sat.
Actually, one time Ileft a wrench in the hood hinge area (by accident) and it stayed there through one hell of a four wheel trip. Does anyone even wonder why there are built in tool trays on the inside and outside of the pig engine bay. Makes me smile just to think about it.

My paint is taking a beating now every time I close my front doors - good thing I painted the Pig with rattle cans!

Haven't heard back from the mechanic and they were closed when I went by yesterday. I'm going by mid afternoon today....hoping I have my Pig for the ride this weekend.
ETA: went by on the way into work and the garage wasn't open yet...gotta try again this afternoon.

Piggie brakes are fixed. A line was loose allowing air in and also dirt which clogged up the lines - lines were blown out, everything buttoned back up and rebled for a whopping $40.

I guess I need to recalibrate my tightening arm...drain plug too tight, brake lines too loose!
Sounds like you found a good shop. Most old Cruiser stuff is pretty simple to fix, especially for guys used to working on old Chevy's...
Steve, it's been a while since I have seen your truck, and I can't wait!!! See you tomorrow...with hinges and shims.

Heather, please keep the dudes out of trouble..Steve, did you get a chance to see Dave Wirrel's <cruiserguy>notes on how to remove the roof? it is on this months ROM.........think I will have to drag the pig to a friends property and cut it with a torch......one of the big problems is that it has had the axles removed so it will not roll and the owner is very flaky about me cutting it up in his front yard?.....y'all have fun at the run

Had a great time this weekend at the Upstate Cruiser Annual Meeting. We were able to get a little wheeling in Sat night/Sun morning and camped in between. I forgot my tent and ended up sleeping in the Pig - laid back a seat and it wasn't too bad but was really chilly.

I still haven't finished the tailgate - hopefully within the next two weeks.
Lou - I plan on putting a cage in my Pig (via Lance) so I don't think I would be too worried about structural integrity from just chopping the pillars and welding back on. If I were to flop the cage should do its thing.
ETA: dang my butt is ugly.

LOL - on the way to the trail a buddy drove up beside me and said I should name her "Big Blue Baboon Butt."
The trail was pretty mild. Those shots were the hardest areas. Those shots were also the most open areas. Most of the way I had branches bouncing off my windshield and sticking in my windows. Thats OK though b/c the flat ODG didn't show much pinstripping. I basically plowed the way for a stock 80 series but the 80 still took some heavy southern pinstripping but hopefully it will mostly buff out.
I forgot who was talking but at the meeting two guys were looking at the Pig and one said "this is Kaderabek's old Piggie" the other said "COOOOOL!"

build so far! Besides fixin the tailgate are you done? The ride height looks good. Did you flex it out & have any tire rubbing the fenders?

I've never rubbed any. The back wheels have rubbed just a tad at some point. I have never disconnected the rear so no probs there. I did trim the front fenders just a bit.
I still have tons to do but at least the Piggie is back on the trail.
