The Belton is a nice lift. You will have to replace the brake lines with longer ones if you plan to use it. (max flex) I am aslo removing the front sway bar today, so I will let you know if that helps with the flex. (I know it will) I am also extending the rear sway bar by 3" to make up for the lift.

All of this is moot because I am going SOA in the spring (that's June around here) I am not happy with how tall the truck is. With the lift, you get to where the truck "should" be from the factory......but it is not at wheeling hieght.

here is the truck with the belton on 31s

and here it is on 255/85R16 with split rims (sorry I don't have a better pic)

I've had an '89 Dodge Cummins turbo diesel 5 speed. Great engine, crappy truck. Tons of power from the 5.9l Cummins. I could easily accellerate up Loveland Pass in Colorado with a camper full of camping stuff, 6 people, 6 bikes full water tanks etc. etc. and I was already doing 70 mph!! I'd take a Cummins 5.9 powered 'Cruiser anyday! I sold the truck in favour of another BJ60 though. Just can't beat a Toyota with a Dodge though, no matter what engine the Dodge has!!

Forunately my 5 speed in the Cummins didn't crap out like so many others did.

Brad,
just to let you know, when i was looking into the PI i was told that with a 6" X 30" tank i would be able to go 4 tanks of diesel to every tank of propane.
i was quoted $300 for a custom tank to mount between the frame rail and the driveshaft on the narrow side. i figured that with the 1/4" skid plate the tank should be out of harms way.

GETRAG!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Turbo (diesel) bummer.

Ive heard that they dont like towing.

Well the valve body is on order for the A440F, the muffler is cut off and I have the gauges ready to go in. I am going to run around for a couple of days with the gauges in to get a baseline for boost and EGTs before I start messing with anything.

I wish my snorkel would hurry up and get here. I am interested to see what, if anything, it does for boost and EGTs.

I installed a set of red tops this week to allow my inter-cooling piping to go beside the batteries instead of underneath them. I have also started on my propane injection.

I will post pics when worthy and available :D

you might find power drops with the snorkle... air flow issues i'm told, but it helps keep sheite outa the engine.

and aussies drive with gas tanks (lpg) all the time offroad, and they are not the huge risk everyone makes out... fire is about the biggest threat, but if your rigs on fire, things have gone drastically wrong

If your truck is a bit slow you could try setting off a bit earlier and thereby arriving at your destination on time without going any faster.

Slow and steady -the way to go. Remember the tortouise and the hare ;)

Air. It needs better/cooler air flow. The first thing is removing that restrictive muffler and fart can. I am going to go up to 3" mandrel and straight pipe the old girl. I also have an amsoil air filter with a safari snorkel (well I ordered it) to help it breathe better. This alone should open up a few starving horses.

Inter-cooler, I think it is actually a pre-cooler but Oh well. I am having issues with this one. There is not a lot of room up front to add the size of rad that I would like, but I do not want to get rid of the a/c cooler. I may have to "gulp" be satisfied with an undersized
inter-cooler. Anything is better then nothing.

Bonjour Brad,

I am used to simulate engine performance with Engine Analyzer Pro v3.3.

I am a fan of diesel engine and particularly specialized in intake/exhaust optimization. I have 2H engine specifications and would like to simulate 12H-T. I know torque and HP rpms, in supplement to compression ratio. If you know other differences, let me know, I will similate the stock 2H and intake/exhaust geometry optimization.

Bad Religion says,

actually that isn't completely true. the snorkel will keep water out but in the bush it grabs everything leaves, small twigs etc and dumps it down the tube. eventually you end up with a rats nest in your aircleaner. ask anyone that has done bush running with one. i guess if you have a precleaner you would be alright. but stock out of the the box, unless you are water crossing, they suck, or in reality they restrict.

i did mean water by sheite... also keep some dust out in a desert convoy senario... but i agree with the leaves and stuff.

I have a Hj61 with the A440 and have cranked up the boost to 11.5 psi and have added fuel to compensate. My truck made 7 psi before mods and about 900 degrees. this was loaded in top gear. Now my temps are 1000 loaded down. The performance is about what it was before adding 35's and the SOA. Almost respectable. I am looking at an intercooler but have not found a source. If you have some pics of yours, maybe I can fab one up. I would appreciate the pics.
thanks
Gary

Gary, I too have not found an intercooler that will work as of yet. It looks like a custom job with a grill modification to make it fit is the route I am heading.

My "extreme stage II" valve body arrived today. I hope to have it in before sunday for our clubs annual spring bar-b-que!!

My powershot 2000 PI is installed less the tank. Still having a few issues with fitment and protection. I am also waiting for the 24-12 converter to ensure proper operation of all the safety features.

My isspro guages went smoothly into the overhead console, with the exception of running the lines down the passenger side A piller, what a PITA. I am running boost, EGT and oil pressure. I have also ordered a temp guage with 3 settings for the engine oil, tranny, and rear dif. I think this will get placed in one of the two dash vents.

So far I am happy, not that I have done much to improve performance, but I do have a basiline for the truck......

I'll try and get pics.
