Find a friend. Get the set of high low pressure lines from rock auto ahead of time, you'll probably have to cut the one. If you got new bushings press them into the steering rack ahead of time with the hardware. Make sure you measure the tread count on your tie rods. Use the engine lift method, but dont put a bottle jack in the middle of your oil pan, use a wood block toward the edge/corner. Unclip the fan shroud before you lift the engine so you dont break the plastic clip. I would clean the area ahead of time with an engine bay cleaner and a hose and maybe a brush. Have someone hold the steering wheel straight when you are disconnecting the rack from the column otherwise when you try to loosen the bolt the whole thing will simply turn, then dont be afraid to get a prybar or copper in there and whack at it and yank it off. Same thing for reconnecting it, have someone hold the steering wheel. When putting in the new rack first push the inner tie rods all the way to one side. And at the end if you've replaced belts and undone clips make sure all hoses are secure away from moving parts.Anything that you learned? I’m doing my rack, bushings and LCA’s in the next week or so.
Thanks, didn’t order hoses I may have to do that. I do have the use of a lift and a few buds and beers.Find a friend. HECK NO! Way too much work, I just took the oil filter off. That's all you will need if you jack up the drivers side 1-2inches.Thanks, didn’t order hoses I may have to do that. I do have the use of a lift and a few buds and beers.
Did you pull the Oil Filter assembly as the FSM says?
Hope you didn't skip lunch at The Wharf!
We actually were next door at Sea Critters- never been there so had to give it a go! I am a big fan of the Wharf though.

We could start a Central Florida club just for 2000 River Rock Green Mica LC 100s!![]()
If your still considering doing Calvary blue I'd love to see how yours turns out. With the ARB/Slee combo on your rig it would be very similar to how mine will hopefully look down the lineTrust me, they drive me crazier than they drive you! We are going to replace both fenders, but I don't know what I'm doing with the truck color so I don't want to do it yet. Thinking that Calvalry Blue on the new 4R and Tacos but that color looks weird in certain light. I love white too. On the other hand I don't mind the pinstripes so maybe keep it silver. First world problems...

Yeah I saw. It just looks weird with the painted bumpers and different grilleI'll just leave this here.

Paint job process has begun
Agree with the black wheels and rack. My rack and wheels were already gray, so I wasn't going to tackle that right now. I think it looks pretty good as is, but the black bumper does look better. I absolutely despise gray body trim though. We will see how it looks covered in mud tomorrow! Also...forum.ih8mud.com
