I was listening to a Highwaymen CD in my 43 while we were playing around in the back yard. It very seldom skips.

My tahoe and silverado have no CD player either (stupid modern cars). But i keep my old ipod hooked up to the silverado with 6 gigs of music on it on random: Vivaldi one minute, John Williamson the next. Then Ozzy followed by Buffett to balance it all out.

But as for mud @knuckle47 : if I ever own a Cruiser I've made too nice to wheel then I'll sell it and buy one I can wheel. Same with the Camaro- I drive my cars. If they break, I fix them. I love driving old cars. Only thing which really stinks here in Florida is rust: is filthy humid here 99% of the time with a fine salt in the air when there's an on-shore breeze which just coats the cars in salt. Once a car gets wet here it can be weeks before it dries completely

That's why I am so glad that Tim has completely sealed mine in epoxy first, then primer, then paint. It 'should' be pretty well protected from the humidity, salt water if playing on the beach, and salt air. 🤞

Just need to get the 550 gallon drum

@FloridaLife I checked out the Pioneer Avic. Would never butcher a 40 series dash to add a double DIN. My 89 FJ62 with the correct wiring adapter would plug and play but unless things change I am not around it enough to get a library recorded.

I have a JBL head unit out of an early Tundra or early 2000s 100 series. Amplifier is from a early Tundra which did not require and wiring mods. Factory harness reached where the amplifier is mounted.

It is a six CD changer and even off-road doesn't skip. What's crazy I can plug a remotes six CD changer that head unit controls as well. I have a bunch of different changers all of which work off the head unit. Few years back people were just about giving these away on eBay.

I know what you mean. I had a GREAT Pioneer stereo with I think a 10 or 12 CD changer hidden that I actually moved into 3 different vehicles. It was great! And a hidden amp & all the speakers were hidden. With the top down at 120 - 160 mph you didn't hear any wind noise at all. Just pure full bodied music, all the highs, mids, and lows (2 MTX Thunder subwoofers too). 😍🥰

Evolving tech hasn’t been the greatest in some cases..we had a “dvd jukebox”. Made by Sony and reminded me of one of the old Seeberg jukebox’s with a circle of 45’s in it. These were dvd videos it held 400 dvd’s and cd’s. Also it played super cd’s which were some kind of audio hi-tech stuff. Connection to the TV was with 3 RCA plugs video, and L/R audio. When TV’s evolved to S-Video and then HDMI, the RCA ports were just eliminated.

Rendered useless

I. Terms of outdated tech....

I see your CD changers and raise you a Commodore Vic 20 (yes, before the Commodore 64, way before) and single sided single density floppy disk drive (about 5 1/2" floppy disks( that I worked my a--hole off to earn the $400 for (that was just the floppy disk drive unit) back in 1981. And... I still have it in a closet. Also have an early PlayStation that I (back when my hands were steady) soldered into the motherboard mod chips to be able to play games from ANY country, not just the USA. Some of the best games never made it to the US and I had a contact overseas, so the mod chips bypassed the part of the boot up sequence that verified the country code. 😎

Got the clutch sorted I reckon. The throwout bearing was resting on the pressure plate and always spinning; which was the noise I was hearing. I gave it about 1/4" of slack on the slave rod which gave it maybe 1/16" space from the pressure plate. Then I took up the slack with the rod to the master and now it shifts perfectly with no noise at all with the clutch out not moving. Not sure if the before/after pictures do it justice. Simple, easy fix: I love those.

Drives SO nicely. I've put about 450 miles on it so far and it's been an absolute joy to drive.

Full House: I don't own a computer now. I have an ipad for work (company issued) but no computer.

I've never owned a video game and as a kid we didn't have a TV until I was 12...... I did have a friend I raced BMX with who had a Tandy or Mac or something like that and he showed me a pong game he was into and a poltergeist game. I played it for a few minutes until I talked him into going back outside to ride the quarter pipe again. So I recognise the names you're using, but I have no real picture of them in my mind...... it drives my wife mental because I can use the programs I need for work, the kids' school, etc. But I have no idea how to use modern word programs or writing software. Luckily, in my job I only really have to manage minimal computer- based crap.

My son has an XBox and a Playstation, but even he isn't really in to them.

Not that what you did is necessarily bad, however the updated throwout bearing is actually supposed to run against the pressure plate teeth per the FSM. They do usually hum a little for a few hundred miles then goes away

When I turned 30 my first computer was a VIC20 with a cassette tape for data 🫪. 1983

I love the LED strip interior lighting so much….ordered it yesterday..showed up at 4:30am today

I raise with my Pioneer six cassette changer. I have four of these, three that work with a remote.
I also still have the a console stereo I bought fifty five years ago. While it has album stack changer I have always used it on the manual setting one album at a time.

I am like Josh. Computers are unfortunately a necessary evil in today's world.

By the way, I sent you a PM of something I am looking for. If you have it, please let me know. Thank you.

I am thinking about doing the same thing. Which one did you order? Are you going to have it wired to a manual switch, or are you going to have it setup so it comes on when you open a door?

I replaced my filler neck and all the hoses (every one was hard as a rock and dry rotted) today, so we shall see whether that fixes the fuel smell issue. I am really glad I got the fuel hose from City Racer. Although it's irritating that the hose clamps they sell as being for that hose are too large. You tighten them all the way to the stop and they can still be wiggled on the hose. So I had to use steadfast hose clamps instead. But they are covered by the splash guard, so only I will know

I found that the fuel separator had a broken hose barb, which was certainly adding to the smell. I plastic JB Welded it on, so I'll reinstall it tomorrow after it cures for 24 hours.

In my tradition of 2 steps forward, one step back, I tightened the vent window on the driver's side because it would blow closed at any speed over 75. That worked beautifully, so I decided to tighten the passenger vent window to make it similar resistance to the driver side (for OCD purposes of course). I did this despite the fact that it didn't need it......

Well, I turned the nut ever-so-slightly, and it sheared right off😭. So now it has almost no resistance and flaps in the breeze unless it's latched closed.

So now I'm be looking for a left- side vent window if anyone knows of one available.......

In another thread member @matt tin said I was lucky to source late model doors with vent windows because they are hard to find. He is in Queensland. I will take the approach if it's not broken leave it alone.

I wish I'd taken that approach...... but alas.

I've got some ideas on how to fix it, but that's for after the screen. Grrrrrr.
