Made the first modification purchase for The Mall Crusher today. Blasst got one of the few TJM T13 Front Bull Bar Bumpers imported from Slee, but decided to go another direction on his build. He made me a great deal on this brand new never installed bumper so I couldn’t refuse. Looking forward to the install soon.

Picked up a new gas cap. Being 8 years old and 180k, thought I would do this $15 buck update.

Beautiful day in Houston to work outside. My 2010 was due for oil change.

Changed oil with Mobil 1 Synthetic, TRD Oil Filter, greased the driveshafts and u-joints, BG44k in the tank, fresh top coat of grease on my KDSS valves to prevent any future cortisone and cleaned/lubed my sunroof tracks. Looked over vehicle for anything that might need attention. All looks good for another 5k!

Last year I replaced my thermostat. Went with a Gates brand, but it was a mistake. Noticed that it took my cruiser a little more time to warm up than normal. Got a PO128 code that indicated my thermostat was bad and stuck open. This certainly beats a thermostat that gets stuck closed and engine overheats. Overheating did not happen to me and I am thankful.

Lesson I did learn here is Gates makes pretty good Hoses, but their thermostats are junk. Went to Mr. T and got an OEM t-stat. Swapped out today and back to normal. Will be OEM only from here on out...

My headlamp assemblies looked worn and tired. Tried to restore the plastic, but could not get it back to 100% and it drove me crazy.

Decided to buy 2 new OEM headlight assemblies. Had them professionally wrapped with a smoked ceramic tint film. Did this for the look and also the film will protect the plastic from UV fading over time.

Also changed the front grill to a black hex grill from EBay. Added an old school Toyota badge to the front grill.

Lastly I upgraded my bulbs to Osram Lo Beam Halogen and Silverstar High Beams for now. These were rated top choice at Bulbfacts.com. This site is awesome to get reviews on just about every auto light available on the market today.

Nice updates. Would love to hear your impressions on the replacement headlight bulbs. Looking to update my 2010 as well. I’m wanting brighter, whiter light, but am hesitant to make the jump to led for a few reasons. Let us know how they work out, thanks!

How many ounces did you use for brake flush? I am going with toyota dot 3 in the 12 ounce containers.

Installed matte black decals from TVD Decals on my rear Land Cruiser plate. Definitely makes the “Land Cruiser” stand out. Probably will keep some people from thinking I drive a Sequoia :)

Looks great! I hope to finally getting around to doing this this weekend (had the TVD decals sitting around the house for a couple of weeks now). Did you apply via the “wet” method?

Didn’t do the wet method for those labels. Used extra wide painters tape to remove each letter and then applied. Will have to use wet method on the sombrero. That one is going to be a bit more difficult to do.

I used the wet method and it works well. I F’d up the sombrero. Hope to be finished this weekend.
I think it looks great so far.
The letters pop with the black LC.

Got a great deal on (4) OEM rims off a 2013 200 from a local club member here in Houston.

Had the rims powder coated in a satin black finish. Replacing my 9 year old TPMS sensors with new ones from Denso.

Center caps were plastic so I had to primer and paint them myself. I think they turned out great.

Getting them mounted and balanced tomorrow. Will post up pics.

I’m also in Houston. I have a set of wheels and interest in getting them powder coated just like yours. Do you mind sharing the shop where you got them powder coated and cost?
