I just got news that Gar, Garry Chretien, passed away last night.

Brenda and I reminisced this past week of the great trip from West Harrison to Mystery Creek, down the west side of Chehalis Lake, through Margarit pass and out Norrish Creek in 2007 I think it was. Gar rode along with Rod in Rod's 40. This was my first day trip with the Coastal Cruisers!

Gar was a long time member of the Thunderbirds 4x4 club as well.

Long live the Legend. Take care Gar and say hi to Gary for us.

Shoot, that sucks, I don't think he was that old. I did a lot of wheeling with Gar back in my coastal cruiser days and he was always there to help out when needed, taught me a lot of my wheeling skillz too RIP Garry.

Gar was a pretty dedicated wheeler. He took that old 4runner with
the Supra engine on some pretty rough trails...

I remember Gar from our monthly meetings; he was a great guy to talk to; he was using a cane already then to get around. Sad to hear of his passing.

I know I've done that loop as well @kim what seems now a long time ago and don't recall if it was the same trip. Thought I had photos of it but can't seem to find them in my digital photos. I'll keep on looking when I get back to Abby.

RIP Gar. He was in pretty poor health for quite a few years now. It had been some time since we had last chatted and wheeled together. I think his old 40 became Jasons V8 project?
