Spray Raptor at a higher pressure and you can get a smoother finish that's a little easier to clean off. Also, if you mix in a paint color to your Raptor, it will smooth a bit more

Woke up early today and got 1 side in final primer. Still a little to do on the other . Then I gave the kids a bath. Now going to drop some flowers off with my Mom and then take Elsie to the lake for a bit. Will finish the other side this eve.

Wet sanded to 320. Will prime 1 more time then 400 and that’s all this old Crawler is getting

Right now the inside is primed. Honestly there really is not a lot of surface area on the inside . I think I still might line them . If this was something I was building for cars n coffee on Sat or if it was a stock build then I would do it differently but sometimes I forget this is my Crawler. And it’s ment for the hardest trails . So I have to draw the line sometimes .

Functional it checked all the boxes but it did not pass the vision test so a little bit of mods and I think we got it

Now the question is do I make is so the front is just cosmetic . Maybe a aluminum overlay That way it’s easy to get to my driveline if needed without pulling the skid

Removable front piece would be convenient access. It should still be stout enough so it adds strength to prevent bending the front edge though.

Finally wrapping up some lose ends . Got some switches installed and the overhead light . I am on the 5 week mad dash to get things ready for Rubithon . Trying to decide if I should run my top and doors or not .

Ugg. I really am at the point that I want this 40 out of my life . So I finally was able to get door handles and went to put them on and of course they are not even close . They certainly are the correct handles. I think . Have not seen any different ones . And as far as I know the holes in the doors are oe . But they are not even close . I mean I can drill new holes but then I have a hole still in my door . I guess. I should just be glad it’s my wheeling rig and not worry about it . Still pisses me off though

So . Would I be dumb if I raptor lined the inside of the hardtop sides . The inside of the tub will be . The only thing I guess I don’t like is the dust is kinda hard to get off the Raptor liner . Hmmm.

I used Line-x inside the tub of my fj40 and under when i first restored it 20 years ago. I found very little rust when i decided it was time to give it another go. Many people don't like to use that stuff anymore but i can say that it does offergood protection against damage and rust.

I used white raptor liner on the inside of my hardtop instead of a headliner. I dig it. Really "brightened up the room". Go for it.
