Passenger side a quick fix. Just twisted the bracket off with some locking pliers. Two spot welds snap easily. Cut a contour with scissors and drill a couple holes. 10 min tops.

Next up exhaust tip!
Info for posterity. If you chop your resonator, the size to buy is 3” od. It isn’t exact, but better than 2.75. All you need is a 90 and a tip in 3”. You then decide how close you want to the tire and clamp it on/weld it up.

The car pipe to 90 you have to weld there isn’t enough to room for a butt clamp. Believe me I tried.

Exhaust tip just clamp on or weld on. There are a bazillion styles. I went with a 3” to 4”.

Amazon didn’t have a black option with a good clamp so I have shiny stainless.

Did a quick oil and filter change to add in the ceratec and make sure that there wasn’t any restore left in the oil.

As anticipated the new oil from last week was solidly black from the high detergent load left from the restore. It had about 60 miles on it.

Used the ez oil drain for the first time and the filter plug drain for the second time. Didn’t even get my gloves dirty - a true no mess oil change. Worth the $50 invested in the specialized parts.

Changed the pcv valve, but I doubt it will matter the old valve worked fine. Rattle and block/ blow thru for air tests passed.

No new rubbing. I have a berm at the entry to my driveway with about two feet of height over four or five feet run. No rubbing driving over that so I’m optimistic it won’t rub in most situations.

Still haven’t put it in low mode. Will probably run the sensor lift on front first with before and after measurements to make sure I don’t blow out my upper fender liner when I drop it. I prefer not to sensor lift if I don’t have to.

Have a couple hours on the tires now and can post first impressions.

They are pretty quiet. Obviously they are still super new. There is some tire noise at freeway speed, a background white noise. It is low in volume and not an unpleasant sound. I’d call it normal to quiet for an AT five tread style tire.

Compared to the duratracs, it is both quieter and different in characteristic. The duratracs started a low hum around 35 mph. There is none of this now. At 35 mph with the windows down these tires are completely silent.

Rain - good as expected
Dry - good as expected

Handling and ride. They are an 80 aspect tire. The ride is more compliant than the duratracs, and less compliant than the p rated Michelin hp tour. I can use “sport” mode without it being very harsh, which the duratracs were. I can use comfort mode and it isn’t too bouncy.

They don’t corner awesome. Fine, but not speed racer. This is to be expected from an 80 aspect.

It took a couple days to get the pressures to stabilize.

Summary perfectly fine and nothing unusual to report.

I can go into low mode. I have had driver front a bit lower since I got the rig was putting off addressing until tires were sorted as it requires an alignment. I will need to do a calibration, it lowers to about one finger space to upper fender, and I can’t turn the wheel more than about 1/2 way. Others corners all have plenty of space.

This was expected. Stoked that a simple recal or minor sensor adjustment will address.

Have been sweating over a 64bit tech stream install. Got the usb driver set, but the software is still the read only version. Had the same problem last year when I set it up, can’t remember how I solved it.

Can connect and read values but the update options are not showing. I know the install is botched but not sure what order the fix was.

Good news is the new laptop is much faster (parallels running win 10 on a 2012 Mac Pro) so when I get it figured it won’t take 30 min just to clear obd codes

Fiddled a bit with tech stream and fixed my lx lean. Used the height offset function. I don’t under stand exactly how it worked the offset values enterd weren’t getting the desired results. After a power cycle / restart and short drive the corners are all same height and my alignment is off (as would be expected).

I wonder if the ecu just reset to 0 or if I lucked into a good set of values, or if the very tilty parking space I was in contributed. Either way it’s perfect:

After a few cycles the rig is still mainly balanced, much better anyhow. Still a finger low fl and a finger high R.R., but looks much better and I did get back some needed clearance fl for low mode, was rubbing the upper liner in low mode when locked.

Tire rub update:
Have a very minor full lock rub on both sides on the inner vertical part of the frame by the front of the tire. No action necessary.

Was scrubbing under full compression on fl liner top, this is fixed with the new sensor offset, at least for driving on road. Example was going down a steep hill and then the compression the front when it abruptly flattens out. There are a couple very steep streets near me that could do this if I wasn’t going slow, now fixed and full g force roller coaster ride is back.

And got into a conversation with a coworker on dorkles and ended up buying one. Went with an off brand - like that it enters the fender sooner.

What could possibly go wrong?

Any concerns about sitting the bumper down on that turn down? Hard to tell from this angle if it’s in the way.

No. In that position I couldn’t turn the wheel much In low. Now with the height adjustment via tech stream it’s good for lock to lock in all three modes.

Super easy install on the 35s. Stay skinny and use a 35 to 45 offset and profit.

Oh absolutely. LOL. But seriously it’s pull the wheel and liner. Put on the template. Measure and remeasure and then cross your fingers and cut.

This one runs the horizontal bit above the wheel liner in the fender and reuses the existing entry for the air box.

I bought from an amazon seller to make return easier. Just in case . . .

I heard that you like tall and skinny tires:

255/100/r16!

Have to love 100 ratio tires!

Dorkle here already. Box is five feet tall

The dorkle connections are around 4" ID. The vertical downtube is 55" long. The inside the fender piece is 22" long. The inside the fender piece is 15" center to center on the holes.

It's friggin huge.
