After 15 years with my much-loved BJ70, I got a new truck!
Been thinking about it for a few years now. Thought I had it figured out, then would go ping ponging back and forth between a 74 and an 81, and back again. In the end I'm really a 70 series guy, so I finally placed my order. My wish list was no rust, lockers, FF, a/c, and the biggie: sub 100,000kms. I settled for a non-locked truck, figuring that I do have 2 ARBs, 4.56s AND a FF sitting around already.
Haven't decided the fate of the 70 yet. I'll either pull all the good stuff off it, move it to the 74, and flog it, or make a total bush beater out of it. I like that idea, but my total vehicle count is getting a bit ridiculous for a guy (with no garage) that's away so much of the year, so we'll see...
For now I'm pretty excited with that 13B-T (pulled the Cut at 90km/h...in 5th! The 70 does it at 68km/h...in 3rd) and cold-blowin' a/c.
Anyway, here's a couple of crappy pics while the Armour-all is still wet on the tires
