I also had an original stabilizer and tried a fork/cursing/etc with no luck - gear puller for the win.

Also add a cutoff wheel to the list... Once installed you will want to cut the ubolts down, unless of course you like the look/function the bolts hanging down snagging everything.

My cut to death front fenders, OME heavies and 35 12.50x15" BFG AT's on 10" wide rims (and 8" wide spare) rub with about 1.5" extended bumpstops..

They don't rub bad enough for me to care that much, but they do rub..

:meh:

Wish me luck

I put everything back on that came off, except where I had new parts. I've not had any issues and mine has been on the truck for a while.

Finished my install! Things went very smoothly for the most part. I have a laundry list of tips and ideas to add from my experience.

I decided to leave my off as both rear springs were '+' (overspec)

I did not want the extra height those spacers would bring. Currently, my cruiser has a bit of a stinkbug and as of this morning is beginning to show a bit of lean also. The suspension is settling down nicely.

same for me. :meh:

Remember that the hole in your bottom spring U bolt plate is much bigger than the spring pin. It does not take much to shear that spring pin..

the spacers (the pads on the bottom of the spring?) do not add height since they are below the axle, the isolator is important in locating the springs within the perches.

any time you add anything between the axle and main leaf in a SUA setup you are effectively lowering the rig (think lowering blocks for mini trucks)

that said, I'm sure you're fine with leaving the lower pads out. post pics!

Right!

Hopefully you installed the OME spacer that takes up this gap.

I did. I used the brass spacer and "pressed" it on with a swinging rubber and wood press.

Does anyone know what the specs for the OME zerk fitting is? I broke one :o and went to napa and they didn't have a match.

Its metric, 4mm comes to mind but I would have to check tomorrow. I know I've had customers tell me they've found them at Lowes before.

Front Shocks:
Top stud mount @ Frame - 19 ft-lb
Bottom Mount @ Axle - 47 ft-lb

Rear Shocks:
Top Mount @ Frame - 47 ft-lb
Bottom Mount @ Axle - 27 ft-lb

Spring Pin (Hanger Pin) Retaining Bolt - 17 ft-lb (unless stated otherwise)
U-Bolts (FJ62), FSM calls for 105 ft-lb. We generally do 90

Another suggested part is the extended front sway bar links (we send them in our kits), the rear doesn't get pulled too drastically but anything over 2" and I recommend the front be lengthened (pretty easy DIY) or buy an extended sway kit.

Kurt, do your sway bar extension kits include bushings for where the sway bar mounts to the axle? Mine rattle like crazy.
