If I had the money I'd get that one... I think the low price is because it's in Podunk. (sorry if you live near there.)

One thing to remember is because it is in Podunk (St. Johns) it might or might not have emissions that will pass in Phoenix.

I would rather live in Podunk full time instead just part time. Last year it cost me $65 to register my FJ62 for five years. Probably pay almost that much in Phoenix just taking it thru emission during that time period, not to mention the hassle doing it.

Fj45. Not cheap... but they're hard to find.
There used to be one in Kelvin, just west of the 177 on the Florence/Kelvin hgwy several years ago. The owner had bought it new off the lot in Idaho late in the 60's. Red with an 8274. Not sure if he's still there or if he would sell. He was living in a bus and tent at the time. I used to want one really bad, and would check in when I was out there, but at 6'4", I've kind of given up the dream. Been a few years since I've seen it.

:meh:

I would stay away from that first one. 68 feet is pretty long to be attempting to drive over any insignificant obstacle. Think of the break-over angle!

Anybody know this person, "Odie"... has a few ads on CL for Toyota 4x4 parts. Since I'm in need of a front diff...

Toyota Parts

Update: Turns out he goes by megatoy66 on this board and TTORA. Claims to have lots of parts and can set up diffs, transmissions, etc.

Maybe someone else will contradict me, but...

My second thought about buying V8-converted truck is, "who did the work and can I trust they did it right?" If I were to buy one, I'd buy it from someone I knew, or I'd rather have the stock set-up.

On the other hand, you've been waffling too long. Maybe you should just buy something already. Jump in both feet. The water's nice.

^^^^
Having owned two V8 converted Land Cruiser one should have strong mechanical skills and be familiar with this type of stuff prior to purchase. You will find it difficult and pricey to find people who have the ability and want to work on most converted vehicles.

I called too, even though my spider sense was tingling like crazy.

Straight to voice mail....

Like Rob said, probably to good to be true.

Pretty good mileage, white, locked, oil changes, garaged, runs like a top, new tires, etc. and $3,400 ???
