advance with caution

Dave, meet MOOSE. He is the pup we rescued when we lost our BC/Sheltie mix. I have no doubt that in years to come he will be a perfect companion. However, would I have gotten him given our current situation? Having just moved, started a new job, working from home, traveling, getting settled in, etc? NO. I would have waited. I am not sure if you have ever had a puppy but it sounds like you have.

They are more trouble than you can remember. Your carpets will get hit. I was working from home and had Moose out every 20 minutes and he still had accidents. Say it out loud... "It's tougher than I remember". Never mind the time it takes just to housebreak but then there is the dedication when it comes to training. It's a TON of time. I know you know all this I am just saying.

Also, does your current dog like puppies? I seriously suggest examining that. I have met more older dogs than not that absolutely hate having puppies around because they are so annoying and the take away attention.

All I am saying is give it some long hard thought... It will be brutal for at least 6 months.

No Dogs until you have the pig finished. One project at a time please!

Pete,

That's basically the conversation Sara and I keep having, eyes-wide-open. It's no sure thing that is for sure.

it sure is a tough one isnt it? either way it will work out. its all about the timing IMHO.

that looks like a pretty trailer coffee shop.

FRIDAY!!!!!! Friday for me anyway. Heading to Maine tomorrow to go camping for 4 days with neighbors. Bringing the wife and 2 year old son which should be interesting.

Sold both the Blizzard and my wife's Karmann Ghia convertible yesterday. Beautiful day in Flipperland!!

The Blizz is going to a guy in Chicago that has never owned a Toyota in his life but saw a Blizzard in Africa while on safari and had to have it. He was so excited he had to put his wife on the phone cuz he couldn't talk. He knows how rare it is and knows parts will be tough. Either way he's now infected.

The Ghia convertible was bought by a company called Picture Cars in NYC. They buy cars for movie studios. They're using the car as-is and will be the featured character's car. No restoration or anything. I'll find out the name of the movie later today. The producer is a woman and said she loves Karmann Ghia convertibles and had to have mine. Fun stuff.

Garage is now empty....until the BJ40 shows up next week. Crewcab in 1 month!!!!

I dig the pink polyester- wrinkle free.

I've been reading this thread since I signed up in Jan. It is finally a 'true' Friday for me... out of here at noon packing up the RV hooking up the 40 to the rear and heading north to Maine!!! Psyched the humidity finally broke- we'll see how long it last though. You guys have fun Monday morning on your commute in to work- I'll be thinking of you...:D:D

Jamie.

Have fun. I'm taking the last week of July off and spending 4 days at Winslow State Park in Freeport, camping right on the water, its' fantastic. :)

Sweet- Freeport is beautiful, don't let the wife hit the outlets too much!;)

I would like to call what I'm doing camping... but it'll kinda be like bringing the house to the beach- I've always 'roughed' it before- this will be an experience.

Was off all last week. Planned to do a bunch of loads of fill with the dump truck, for the driveway.
Spent Sat. fixing the hydrolics and replacing the header gaskets. I then left a message for the quarry guy that I would be around Mon-Sat and would like to get loads whenever possible. He returned my message as I was on my way home on Sunday, (after the week had passed), called to say he would be there Sun afternoon and Mon. :bang:

I did manage to get some loads from the other place, but more expensive and further to haul.

Looking forward to this weekend, I picked up a small woodburning cook stove and will be setting it up outside for cooking on. Working on my MTB trails.

some humor for today...

Subject: Why men don't write advice columns

Dear Walter: I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for
work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't
gone more than a mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car
shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help.

When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in our bedroom with
the neighbor lady. I am 32, my husband is 34, and we have been married
for twelve years.

When I confronted him, he admitted that they had been having an affair for
the past six months. I told him to stop or I would leave him.

He was let go from his job six months ago, and he says he has been feeling
increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since
I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant.

He won't go to counseling and I'm afraid I can't get through to him anymore.
Can you please help?

Sincerely,
Distraught in North Carolina

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Distraught: A car stalling after being driven a short distance
can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine.

Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line.

If it is clear, check the vacuum lines and hoses on the intake manifold
and also check all grounding wires.

If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel
pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the carburetor float
chamber.

People got mad at me for shooting my dog? Someone actually blogged about it!

Anyway, enjoy the vid. I hope it makes you chuckle on this fine Friday.

I'm still laughing!!
That's great Pete!
