No, the HG is the same. Blocks are the same in that aspect.

And as far as my swap is coming... Well it's slow. I'm still building my engine. I'm planning on building a pretty bad ace little re. But they take money so it's slow. I'll take pics when I get my block back from the machine shop. Thanks dude.

If you'v got any questions feel free to shoot me a PM on the swap. Loving mine and can't wait for the 4.56 gears, 2.25 turbo style exhaust witha header (probably LCE) with an engnbldr cam in it to see how much more pep it's got. I'd offer to help with the swap but Cali is a long drive from Washington haha

Ha! Yea it's a bit of a drive. Appreciate the help. My biggest concern is that I'm using a complete 4Runner harness instead of a pickup harness. Other than that I should be good. Still iffy on my O2 sensor and cat situation though. Like, where exactly do I need to put my O2 sensor and do I only run 1 or is there 2?

Cali emmisons is two I believe, and what you can do it have an O2 bung welded onto your existing exhaust system by a muffler shop. As for the 4runner harness there isn't much of a difference besides the rear stuff which you could cut out. And right before the cat if you're running one is where my stock one was.

Thanks dude. Yea if your looking for power gains, everything is in your head essentially. Bigger valves, porting/polishing, balanced and blueprinted injectors, cam, intake and exhaust. Having your lower components balanced is always good too

Haha I'm not going that deep. Just a nice LCE header with a 261 C can from engn bldr and a 2 1/4 exhaust. Along with a nice 4.56 gear for the rear as I already have a set up gear for the front from my old rig

I've personally prefer the toyota headgasket. I made an newb mistake on a new engine install and blow hg from debris in heater core (make sure to flush prior to piping to new engine). Don't remember brand (prolly felpro easy/quick to source) I compared it to Toyota by far superior. Had been a couple years since I'd seen an egnbldr so not fair to compare. Also remflex is about the best header gasket I've found and has lasted the longest. I like to port match the intake gaskets with an exacto knife.

I've got a LCE torque cam in mine and I like it a lot. The guys told me that I'd feel a big difference if I ran a header and 2 1/2 exhaust all the way back. So you know to replace your rocker arms right?

I was planning on going with a Toyota HG. Looks like dual battery's from 12voltguy are also on my list now. My battery died, not sure from a short or what but it wouldn't jump

Is battery an AGM?? I want dual bat set up one day. How are they wired?? Isolator, solenoid??

Exide 710 CCA AGM battery and turns out my alternator died. 12voltguy uses a panel that has an isolator with both battery's attached to it. The panel has 3 switch positions. Up is normal with both battery's charging when the cars running or ign is on. Then middle is one battery then the bottom is an emergency self jump start.

Have you tried slow charging bat?? Must chargers won't do it with out connecting it to another battery to raise the voltage high enough to be read. After charging "both" bats for a bit. You should be able to charge the AGM. Or have a bat shop give it a go. Especially if deep cycle. Is it just a switch that separates batteries or an actual isolator? I read lots of guys having problems with isolators. That the marine switch is the better of setups.

Why do you want dual batteries? Seems like a waste of time and money to me.... Be realistic, do you have tons and tons of accessories that use lots of power? Going on an "expedition" ? Most guys want them cause they look cool but I've personally seen more people have problems with going dual than just running 1 good battery.

Mud, my alternator had gone out and wasn't charging my battery. I don't have duals yet. And Toast, I run and 8274 on the front of my truck, 9.5Ti on the rear. I likes dual batteries for when I was doing long pulls I'd isolate them in case one of the batteries died.

Plus being able to self jump start your self has saved Mr multiple times. That and because of dual winches, off road lights and possibly a sub is why I want them.

A guru (crash) on NWwheelers is a big proponent of switch or straight running in parallel. I've had some hairy pulls and worrying about running bat down, no alt can keep up with power drain of a hard winch over distance. just insurance, or a larger electrical bank account to draw from when needed.

^worded a lot better then I ever could

Well after pouring over many lists of pros and con's and doing reading and thinking I've put the headerz exhaust and camshaft off my list of stuff to do for now. Just because of cost. I already have about 4k I want to dump into the truck, that's only clutch lift tires gear paint and front axle reseal. And I'd like to get a carpet kit and bucket seats for my truck I think.

Sounds like a mature decision, no beefy from this side.

It'd be fun to make it peppier but i din't doing a cam and HG would be a waste when i could go whole new head, break down the engine to rebuild and have a nice fresh engine. I'm also really debating on a header as good ones cost a lot...and I don't like the idea of a 750 exhaust system on a truck I daily drive that's not meant to be a racer or town anything.
