Man, seeing your 55 almost brought a tear to my eye, my dad also had blue and white 350 powered 55 back in the day. Picture is circa 1985, Baja camping.

Nat...........your Pig is one of my inspirations; did your trick with the vacum hose for the rear lock but was wondering where did you source the allen screws for the side rear view mirrors?.cannot find any in SS with the large heads; also could not find the safety buttons on SORs website could you give me a pointer on what section they might be on?..........

I bought all my Stainless metric hardware from McMaster-Carr.

Nat, thanks again.you were right on.I was brain dead with wife working nights and small kids at home; whew!......will check on Mcmaster-Carr......like the allen screws as one of my rear view mirrors just "disappeared"

The upholstery guy came buy and put in the headliner. It is the aftermarket one from SOR.

Hey, did the upholstery guy have to take the three windows (front and the cargo side windows) out when he installed the headliner? I am looking into having a SOR headliner installed but am really not looking forward to doing it myself due to this.

I'm hoping that a pro might have tricks or workarounds up his sleeves to do this without window removal.

Hey there,

I had already removed all the windows and weatherstripping, so the upholstery guy was able to glue it up right.

Hey- I am trying to find out if removing your windows is a DIY job... how was it to do yourself? An upholsterer aid they call a glass guy to come when they install headliners.

Believe it or not, I called a glass place and they told me that I'd better be ready with new glass, because removing glass comes with a 50% chance of breaking...

I removed the glass myself, but my rubber was also shot, so I used a knife and cut it out.

If you do it like that...........do not hit the windshield, a blade will cut up the soft glass edges. Don't ask me how I know

Nice truck Nat. Only thing I would highly, highly recommend you do is get that crank pulley off there. Taking off the vibration damper for just a lightened pulley will get more power to the wheels, but your way more likely to get crank walk or some type of crank issue. Especially if your beating on it offroad. They have lightened crank dampers, would probably be easy to find since its a chevy motor.
