i don’t want to say you’re in your own head because it looks good to me.

do you have any updates on your LRA install?

I may very well be and that's definitely a possibility that I posed haha. I think part of the problem is the taller forward sloping rear fender opening creates a bit of an optical illusion since it doesn't match the shape of the front fender opening. This creates an increased illusion of an exaggerated lean angle.

I don't know when I will have the truck back to the shop in Houston, hopefully I will hear something this week and I can schedule something in the coming weeks. Roof rack should go on soon as well.

Mine is still ass high if that's helpful. Its lack of weight aft of the front seats. I'm still waiting on Washington State to open up to pick up my Truckvault, install that and organize my load out. Once my constant weight is loaded I'll adjust the coil overs and go in for the final alignment.

What rack did you decide on?

I believe that's the stuff from McMaster Carr.

thanks for the edge guard info. I was wondering if i need ones with aluminum inside and also the width. Is 1/16 wide enough or do I need 3/16"? Another question on the fog on the Ironman bumpers, are you guys running them off a relay powered directly from the battery?

Edge guard will be a visual personal choice. If you like how it looks, use it.

I diitched the Ironman lights and used my own SAE Rigids. Spliced directly to the factory harness.

My edge guard has the aluminum inserts. BD lights spliced into factory harness.

I had the Ironman 065C (+220-GVWR) coils installed up front today. I can definitely tell an improvement in the balance of the front end when braking and in dynamic handling scenarios. It also appears to have improved the ride over rough sections of road, the coils no longer feel taxed and over compressed and unable to handle high speed compression. I was hoping that I would gain back the height I lost in the front end after the bumper and winch install but it only appears to have improved by about 1/2" at best. I guess I'll have to see how much more height I can get out of the front coilovers by adjusting the preload further.

For those of you with a 2-3" lift on your GX460, if you wouldn't mind please run a tape measure from either the ground to the bottom of the of the fender dead center of the axle or measure from the center of the axle to the bottom of the fender and let me know what kind of numbers you're seeing. I am not sure whether or not I am simply expecting more out of this setup than what it is capable of, if the forward rake is how the vehicle is supposed to sit to some degree or if it's due to the lack of a spare of added weight (bumper/drawers/cargo) out back or maybe even just a bit of an optical illusion. Either way I feel like it still has too much rake and it still has a tad of the stink bug/ass high look.

I’m running Doninsons 1.5-3.5” lift kit (and think I got 2.5-3” of true lift) specifically the C59-314 Front coils, which are +100 or 110 lb springs, no bumper or other front mods and my centerline of axle to bottom of fender is right at 23”.

I’m a little ass high as well, but knew I would be. I’m running +200 springs in the rear and don’t have a spare or gear in it usually. Also plan for drawers, spare and it’s carrier and have an off-road camper we haul so it settles out when that’s there.

I don’t think your look is bad, nor uncommon. It’s just a compromise. I say throw your spare in, plus another 100 lbs to account to the minimum of whatever spare carrier system you eventually go for and drive it like that for a week or so. Once it settles out, reassess and see whatcha think.

I know in my Tacoma, I was pretty level when unloaded and liked the look, but a couple hundred pounds of gear or trailer tongue weight and I was riding on the overload springs (that said, Tacoma’s had known weak leaf springs, but this was with the TSB improved ones with an AAL) and that was horrible off-road.

I agree, I think I am just over thinking it to some degree. The rear fender opening sits higher than the front and that coupled with the rearward rising front fender opening makes for an optical illusion of an even more exaggerated grade/slope/pitch. We are within 1/2" of each other up front so that sounds about right considering the extra weight I am carrying with the bumper and winch.

Here she is at the dealer earlier today awaiting service, that's with the full size spare in the cargo area. I'll add weight out back eventually with a rear bumper and tire carrier and drawers, but that will also be somewhat offset with the removal of the third row. Hopefully that added weight will help the rear to squat another 1/2".

Doesn’t look dramatic, but yes it’s got some nose dive like mine.

Level has a certain visual appeal to it that is definitely more pleasing...but is less functional at the end of the day. You can achieve level and functional, usually at the cost of ride quality though (aka stiff). All things I know you know, but might help hearing from fellows.

Coming from big Dodges and such, maybe that ride quality hit would be an acceptable compromise for you. I moved into the GX for ride quality reasons as a more forefront goal and though I don’t love the ass high look, I’m happy to choose it as one of my compromises. I work hard, I’m aging, my body hurts and I’m really enjoying a comfortable ride...so eh, screw ideal rake appeal.

You're spot on with that assessment. My last three trucks were 3/4-ton's on 37's and they all had level ride heights and that was rarely altered by payload or accessories due to the nature of the suspension on a 3/4-ton HD. I know that the more I crank on the preload perch the more it'll negatively impact the ride quality of the vehicle, it's certainly a trade-off. The GX still rides very well considering the lift, E-rated tires and heavy rate springs, but if I need a smooth, cushy ride I can always jump in the LX. I think once I add some weight to the rear it'll help rid some of that stink bug look out back and eventually I will learn to look past it simply as a characteristic of the platform.

All cleaned up and headed home from the ranch. I still would like a little more lift up front.

Look'n good!
My wife and I about to head out on another road trip, but not as far a Maine. We're calling this run our dead president's hunt.
E.g. Mount Rushmore and then Yellowstone. :)

From that rear/side pick I couldn't tell there was a rake at all but in the front pic there is a slight rake. And, quite frankly, I can only tell cause I own a GX. Doubt a non-owner could see it.

From the angle above it isn't that exaggerated, it's more noticeable from the side. I'll admit that it bothers me personally far more than anyone else haha, but it is my truck and I am the one that is fixated on it and there's only one solution for that haha.

The surf was calm and the winds low this morning so we decided to trek the entire 46 miles of beach front before lunch. I love cruising the coast line, you never know what you're going to see.
