On last question, and since everyone has been so helpful here. Any recommendations for getting the coaxial from the passenger side hood, down into the cabin? From my reading, I see the cord cluster right behind the glove box, but due to my AHC resevoir, I am wondering if I am missing something even easier than that since it's just one cable (though a relatively large end-piece). Before I started drilling I just wanted to hear what others have done.

I have pushed a heavy gauge steel wire through the rubber seal around the cord cluster behind the glove box and then tied wire to it that I wanted to pull through. Don't know if you can get to steel wire around AHC as I don't have AHC. Would not work with coax that had connectors however.

It takes a really huge mag mount hold that size antenna, especially offroad. Also dirt will get under it and mar paint.
One of our sponsors Gamiviti makes a great little bracket for hood mount.

And these will pretty much fit any firestik stud mount? This is the one I have.

Hmmm. Been mostly working with Ham and forgot that CB stud mounts use 1/2" holes while Ham mounts are 3/4". The Gamiviti mount has a 3/4" hole wonder if he has 1/2" hole versions.
