No point in getting it if you already tried it on your 80, although the reason you couldn't get anything to read may be because of the cable and not the Techstream software. I've noticed several of cheap eBay cables that say they do "all OBD-II protocols" when in reality several cannot handle the J1850 VPW used by the 1FZ-FE.

I'm mostly interested in finding out if Techstream knows how to perform the "active tests" described in the FSM. This includes stuff like turning on/off the circuit opening relay to energize the fuel pump and turning on/off the EGR vsv. Being able to do these things through the OBD-II port would be a big aid in troubleshooting these systems.

Anyway, thanks for the offer but I'll pass based on your testing with your 80.
 
There are two copies of Techstream available. One I donated to CSC, and I believe @LandCruiserPhil possess, the other one is currently in my possession and I am just starting to set it up. If you can wait a week or so, you can borrow my copy.

I can bring in to the June meeting and will try to remember to bring it every meeting I attend.

Cool, I'd be interested to hook it up to my truck, I pulled a wire the PO had run related to aftermarket DVD player connecting to e brake and now I have some dash lights on that my UltraGauge won't read.

I think I have heard of this bypass before. Iirc the system won't allow a DVD to be started while the truck is moving and there is a bypass some have performed to override that defeat. May be an open loop your truck doesn't like now.

Hi Phil,

I would like to borrow Techstream to program a key for my GX.

Does the club copy reside on an XP laptop or do i need to install it ?

As an aside, my copy is running on a Windows 7 laptop.
