Easy way to ID the fan you are hunting, and they are not only on Taurus, several FWD Fords use em

Very simple. I have a three position toggle switch: high - off - low. Mounted on the stock dash. A empty hole was there for some switch that I never figured out what it was for, so it became the fan switch hole.

The shroud can be trimmed also to narrow the thickness down a bit. A few pieces of aluminum strap mounted to the stock radiator braces and your up and running.
