Hi to all who can help
I need to know if a US avail. transmission toyota # 33030-60450 for an HJ60
is the same other than the input shaft for a BJ74 1989
the BJ74 trany listed on online parts catalog states #33030-60501
a canadian 3b trany is #33030-60500
they are all considered H55f if I understand.
Area of concerns :
Ratio
output shaft
Shift lever
I want to confirm because some internal parts are also listed with different part no it could simply be different revisions from toyota or ...

I buy a 33030-60450 change input shaft and plug in my current transfert case correct ?
thanks

Thats what everyone else does. The variations in part numbers often relates to very small changes that dont affect the swapability.
The bellhousings vary but they will bolt up to any h55f.

The H55F input shaft lengths change between the various series:

F (F, 2F, 3F etc.) and H (H, 2H, 12H-T) family engines use a 10 spline short input shaft and front matching bearing retainer
B (B, 2B, 3, 13B, 13B-T etc.) engine family uses a long 21 spline input shaft and matching bearing retainer.
1H (1HZ, 1HD-T, 1HD-FT) engine family uses an intermediate length 21 spline input shaft, and so on...

Bell-housing bolt-up on the trans is all the same but bell-housings vary by engine, vehicle model and year.

There are a few top cover variations and shifter variations depending on vehicle model and market (RHD, LHD etc.)

There have been a few updates to the transmission over time (bearing changes).

Ratios have not changed.

In Canada, there are quite a few 3B versions available, keep your eyes open and see what comes up.

Changing the input shaft is a fairly complex and time consuming task that requires several special pullers to get done.

the 60450 is a late transmission (10/1985 to 1998) and to switch a 2H/2F style input to a 3B you need not only the input shaft but also the bearing retainer.

1HZ's use the same short bearing retainer as the gas-2H versions- the 3B series (including 13B-t) use a long bearing retainer.

1982/3- 10/1985 transmissions do not take parts from the later series. You cannot use a donor 3B input or retainer from one of these on a 60450 transmission.

Sorry for delay never thoughts on closing the thread with a solution.

So i followed my original plan . Bought new transmission from titus will in WA. Usa.
Found a new input shaft for my 13bt. Swap shaft. Et voila.
The new tranny as some updated features to prevent 5th gear slips
I have taken measurement to share knowledge
I now have to sell my removed shaft and find a do or to make a new tranny with 2 old ones . Im in vancouver

I have a quick question relating to this topic that I could not find the answer to by searching.

I found a BJ73 VM motor'd Cruiser in the junkyard. I was wondering if the H55F tranny has the same specs as the 3B motor version?

If so I may buy it for a spare and anything else I can take off of it. Only issue I see is its looks like these were 12V vehicles.

Found some good info in this thread.

H55F Compatibility

This is only post that I could find that specifically addresses the VM question.

Happened upon thread, on another hunt for an elusive unicorn, but wanted to answer for posterity.

The VM'd BJ73s use an F/H input shaft, F/H clutch slave, and F/H clutch, F/H flywheel.

Based on this info could I swap the input shaft and bellhousing from my 3B H55F onto the VM H55F and have a working tranny for my 3B? Sorry if this is a basic question, I'm in way over my head mechanically speaking here...
