Ok, i know im new at this but i have a question. Do you have to pay the MIOBI membership plus the TCCC registration fee to participate? How many kids will be coming. I would like to bring my 11yr old son but want to make sure he will have other children to associate with. thanks

We are planning on bringing our 14yr old & 11yr old boys and I am sure they would love having someone else their age there.

I've probably asked this before, but can a stock, no armor, and no mud terrain, or off-road tires, FJC do the TCC? What do you guys think?

No problem - we were stock last year and had a fantastic time. It was neat for us to see what we could do without any mods.

August 1st is quickly approaching, please get your registrations in, they need to be post-marked by the first. Also, the raffle prizes keep coming in...should be another great raffle this year!

Well Crap. I found out today that I have to work those dates. My vacation has been pushed to Sept.

I guess I will not be caravaning with Landcrusher909.

Do you have a location yet? I will be visiting my family and friends around Lee county.

My goal is to drive the FJ45 Extended cab all the way.

August 22nd  I guess I'll have to miss out this year. :frown:

Dan, I am sorry to hear that , I want to thank you for all your advice and insight on this trip ( my route ) If all the folks in Iowa are like you it should be quite a party  I will see you at the 45 run.

Coffee man here....

We'll bring the coffee again this year (for all you drinkers of that nasty, hot, brown sludge...;)) Please no rain. Please, please, please, please, please!!! Any other 60's coming this year?

Jim

In Iowa, F'n HOT= anything over 85 degrees. It's not the heat that kills you- it's our humidity.

I'm actually considering trying to get a hotel close by this time for the heat/ humidity reasons. I was not raised in this weather and anything over 80 just gets really uncomfortable really fast. Plus, I'll be bringing the co-pilot again this year and he doesn't handle the heat very well either.

HIyas Doc (and all others)!

I live in Des Moines and even here in the city, the humidity is high enough that I can see it hanging in the air. That's not unusual out in the country but in the city, the concrete usually keeps things warm enough that the relative humidity stays lower. Humidity gauge shows 97%.

Mmmm Coffee. Yes, I hope the rains stay away, I've had enough rain this year. Last trip out at Dan's (4th of july) things were pretty dry and it was nice to have your vehicle actually go the direction you're pointing it. Most all climbs were doable without bashing yer rig around.

There's a couple of videos on youtube taken last year at TCCC '07 that gives you an idea of the variety of vehicles that run the trails down there.

Great video  Yesterday I got the cooling system back together , new fan an shroud ( the others were kind of busted up ) today replaced the seal on the transfer case Ebrake, oil change and lube, adjsted the cluch tommorow tune up and make a bumper or at least something to put the rear license on, still need to have the new tires mounted, replace the rear diff gasket, and maybe hook up some night running lights just to make sure the truckers see me at 55 mph LOL I am sure I will think of something else as its gets closer and i get more excited  Have a Great Weekend

Thanks for posting that link; I forgot that video was out there. I took that turn kind of wide....my husband likes to remind me that he was not driving that time!

Just dropped my registration in the mailbox. See you all in August! :steer:

Yepper! I wouldn't miss my favorite event. Sh#tty thing is, Trish got me a sky diving gift certificate for my birthday. That was my suprise. I feel bad I had to squeeze it out of her. She was pretty proud of it. :whoops: She also understands how much I wanted to go to Tall Corn so she compromised. We decided to jump down here instead. It's problably for the best because wind/rain could easily postpone our jump time/date and would make for a wasted trip to Iowa if the weather didn't cooperate. My goal is to eventually jump my mountain bike out of the back of a plane. I need a new bike anyway. :meh: Anyway, see y'all at Tall Corn. Art, if you get there early Friday, can you save me a place at my usual spot? I'm bringing firewood and Shinner Bock Beer from Texas! Thanks bro.
