Tall Corn Cruiser Classic is Aug 21-24, 2014 near Hamilton, IA. More info in the Tall Corn Cruiser clubhouse hear on MUD.
We are planning a wrenching weekend that same weekend at 2FPower's garage for those that need any repairs done before SMORR. There will be BBQ, adult beverages, plenty of space to camp in yard, couple guest rooms, and guest rooms as well as hot tub at my place across the street.
If Kelly wants to check schedule to see if wrenching weekend could be shifted I am game for heading up but want to be around if hosting guests for wrenching.
Dang that sounds pretty enticing. I'm in IA right now. If I'm not in a new position by then, I should be game once I find out more about cost and mileage
Thanks RobKC for supplying the info. I didn't realize the wrenching weekend was the same weekend. I know you told me about it when you stopped by but I'd forgotten the dates. I'd like to do both.
The Iowa club is friendly and fun. The MIOBI location appears to have some challenging terrain for capable rigs and lots of terrain for stock and semi stock rigs. Jim with the 96 80fjz (Blue60) will be at Tall Corn and some great guys I met at GMSMTR in May. Might be a lot of mud? I'm staying out of the mud. The Tennessee mud played tricks on my brakes. But they are fixed now after a blanket replacement approach. I'm good to roll on down the highway again.
It would be a hard choice between wrenching with the TAC Yoto masters versus a run to Iowa. I'd love to see first had breaking down an axle all the way to replacing the drive shaft if anyone plans it. I saw it partially done at GMSTR but missed most of the rebuild since we were on the trail.
Map Hamilton from your location. If you're around KC then I up guess 29 is the best route. I"ll head up 65. It's about 3:30 from my house. Not bad. Way better than 10.5 hours to Tennessee!!!! If you are anywhere around central MO or east of here we could caravan if you're going. I had planned to drive up Thursday. Maybe Friday. Depends on weather and when others might go. They plan to wheel Thurs morning all the way until Sunday morning.
They'd love it if we all went up, but wrench day may be critical for some folks getting ready for SMORR. And SMORR must come first since we need the rigs. It is 100% your call my friend.
