Thanks for all the useful responses -

If anyone sees clean, locked FJ80 in the southwest in the <10K range, let me know!

Another good reason for FZJ80

Never thought I would be offroading to seriously but once I got the 80 with Lockers it makes things like this so fun and easy. Not so much for other vehicles I might add.

Ok - finally found one to look at w/ lockers. Good looking 1993 w 190K.

Mileage too high? Looks clean with all records and reportedly no issues.

What's a fair price?

Thanks all...

Actually, an LX is a Cruiser with a subwoofer. A cruiser has no subwoofer so it can't be an LX.

Same thing! :D

And what do they say about dudes who have to walk around showing off guns all the time? :princess: Now I understand the infatuation with the LX. :flipoff2:

190 is not real high. If it is clean and has been well maintained you have at least 110 thou left.
Cheers,
Sean

Check ebay (completed auction) for price comparison.

I bought my 93 with 165K for $4700. Have a few things that I want to do and the only thing I had to do was new tires and caliper rebuild. Only thing that didn't work is the cd player and original antenna was removed and replaced with a solid mast antenna. Everything else works...and I lucked out...it's locked. Leather is a little rough but otherwise it's a clean truck.

Plan to do some work. I just finished the birf rebuild and I am getting the parts to rebuild the front calipers. I am sure other things will arise but I am at a good starting point with this truck.

My first LC and I love the thing. Bought it for the wifes DD but not so sure she getting it. :grinpimp: "It doesn't have air bags honey! It's not safe enough for you and the kids!" ;)

Sorry Dan, i have to disagree with that. My trooper rode smoother on the road than my 80 ever has. But, when it came to handling, the 80 wins hands down. It corners much better. The trooper feels like it's going to tip going around turns.

Hmm, I never said "BETTER" now did I? :flipoff2:

Personally, handling is one, if not the most important aspect of on road driving. These are coil sprung trucks, they will be smoother than most, even with major offroad mods. Sorry, but I will have to disagree with your disagreement! :grinpimp:

Dan, have you owned a trooper? Have you drive over 60,000 miles in one year all around the east coast in a trooper?

I have, so i can say these things. I'm not saying the trooper is superior to the 80 series land cruiser. What i am saying is that the trooper is not a bad vehicle. It has a great highway ride and the build quality is high. Actually when i used to close the doors on my trooper, they felt and sounded more solid then the doors on my 80.

Last time. . . . for all around quality, reliability, handling, off-road ability you can't get any better than the 80 series Land Cruiser.
