All, I will get a bid on how much it would be to reproduce some handles.

I posted question here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-...ty/746015-tailgate-handle-repro-question.html

I went to the main forum b/c I realize not everyone has access to this section.

I am thinking aluminum might be the best option in terms of breakage & expense.

I'll keep the group posted.

I did repro a gasket out of of old bicycle inner tube, I can post an image of that for folks to copy.

I hear you on the breakage, it would be good to find a design that will break less than the factory piece.

We could go steel, and then powder coat to order...

I'll ask the qty question. Not sure if I would have to buy a min qty upfront, or if I can batch orders into a run.

I thought the finished aluminum after machining might be adequate w/o a polish step. So I was hoping...

Not sure what teh market will bear in terms of price, or qty, so if there is no polish involved with aluminum, then that might be better. It would make them look kind of like a billet wheel vs. a chromed piece. I guess folks who need that chrome look could opt to polish them on their own?

As long as the aluminium does not break like the factory pieces do...
