I came up with an idea of this enhanced tailgate handle.
If you have only one hand available your grip on the tailgate is firm from the very beginning.
Or in case you are sleeping inside and opening tailgate, benefits are obvious.
It is pretty comfortable , quick and easy to use.
What do you think about it ?

Great idea, so fingers on the right, thumb on the left (assuming most of the world is right handed)??

What about adding a short ledge (extended edge/lip) on the top of the handle horizontally ie like a very short or narrow roof overhang??

Example: on the right side of the handle have a ledge/lip going forward (up in the photo), on the left side of the handle (for the thumb)
a ledge/lip heading rearward (down in the photo)? Just enough of a lip to help keep the fingers or the thumb from slipping off
but not so large/wide that it hinders getting your fingers on the handle??

There is not much you can do about orientation of handle. No discrimination right or left handed person.

I understand what you mean but lip is not really needed on thumb area. And finger area is tapered in latest revision , it acts like vedge.

Check my website, I have video there.
