Well now that my pig is up and running I am discovering all kinds of new things about her. For instance....

After I turn off the vehicle and every thing is shut down, i.e. head lights, blikers, I walk around back and notice that my tail lights are still lit. They will stay on untill I go in and tap the brake pedel. Once I do that they turn off and stay off.

Anybody have any clue as to what is going on here?

couple things, sounds like the pedal is not lifting off the switch all the way all the time. i would suspect the spring is not picking it up or the pedal is getting hung up on something. if those dont seem to be the problem the swicth is adjustable to get it away from the pedal a hair.

Brake switch on petal or out of adjustment. Like Rhino said

Howdy! Could also be that you need to adjust your brakes out just a bit. Sometimes there is just not quite enough return pressure to help the pedal/switch back to the OFF position. I replaced my switch thinking that was the problem. NOT! Now I keep the brakes adjusted a couple of times a year, and I listen for the switch to click off, and you can also see the amp gauge needle bump when the lights go on or off. John

Another thing:

When I was initally cleaning out the cruser I found what looked like a carburator spring on the driver's side floor. One of the hooks at the end of the spring had a little plastic tab attached to it. The tab had obvsouly broken off from some where, but I coulden't find where under the dash.

Could this be my problem???

Not sure about the spring, there is a return spring though. I have the same problem when I need to adjust my brakes. I also adjusted the switch. Its real simple to do.

When I was fixing the tail light issues I figured out where the "carburator" spring came from. The fresh air vents used to have a little tab on them that droped down from the main shaft. Then the spring attached to that tab and a small nub about an inch and a half closer to the fire wall.

I have no issues with my vents staying open or closed while driving. So I guess that it isnt all that big of a deal.
