I've had a bit of a vibration in my 85 runner. recently pulled my front driveshaft to replace a ujoint, and figured on checking the rear. there is play where the rear driveshaft attaches to the T-Case output flange. Bolts are all there and tight. Is this normal? I'd say at least 1/8" in each direction. Is this something that can be tightened up if need be? Or is there some bearing damage in the T-Case? There is no play at the ujoint, just on the flange and inside the case I guess. Any help or ideas?

That sounds a little too much to me. There is a bearing retainer that can be pulled off, and just the output shaft bearing can be replaced, pretty easy job. You'll need to drain the t-case, and get a new seal and stake nut too. I can't remember if there's a gasket under that retainer, and I'm too lazy now to look it up. Your dealer parts guy can tell you.

USE OEM BEARINGS.

cheers. As far as the OEM bearings go, if I was buying a T-Case upgrade kit from a reputable dealer(recomendations?), should I look for one without bearings so I can replace them with OEM's instead or can I trust that the upgraded parts will have good bearings with them?

I'd pull the rear drive shaft out and see if the flange nut is just loose..... If not:

Here's some of the best directions you're gonna find:

Do steps 1 and 2, then skip to 7 and 8....

I'd call CruiserDan for parts. Or Marlin Crawler, but I don't know if they sell just the bearing separately...
