Synthetic vs Wire rope pro’s/con’s

Thanks for pointing out that most synthetic lines are UV stable, that was one of my concerns because I’m not interested in spending the amount of money necessary to by a new line ever couple years due to UV exposure. I also hadn’t considered the fact that the synthetic line floats.

UV stable , doesn’t mean resistant!
It is widely known that synthetic lines are affected by sun light , even if you cover them !
So in short the line will degrade its resistance over time .
How much ?
This depends from many factors . Latitude where it is exposed , humidity , heat ecc .
If you plan to use your recovery line seldomly or as others have already said in harsh ground I would go steel .
Have double attention while you handel it .
But steel will have a very long life , and does the job .
