Switching front blinkers and marker lights...it works!

Replacing it with a 1157 bulb and socket sounds like a plan. It retains the running light and adds the turn signals. Since the running light on a 1157 is only 7/8 watts, I don't think it will melt the lens.

Now which 1157 socket will fit without mods?

i too rewired my corner lenses so they have an 1157 and act as both indicator and turn. they work great. I no longer use the original turn lights. i have pics of the mod on my recent front bumper build post.

Can anyone post any direct pictures of the wires. I got the lights pulled out but the housings of the wires indicated in this post don't match up. Do I pull the wire individually out of the white plug or is there something else I have to do? any help would be greatly appreciated.

With this mod, all you do is switch the sockets from one housing to the other. No unplugging, cutting or splicing.
