I'm hoping one of you electrically inclined types can help me out here. I'm in the process if installing a VIAIR on-board-air system in my rig and thought about adding an electronically controlled purge valve to the system for 5h!ts and giggles. I'm planning to use this momentary switch to activate the valve and I'm not sure which terminal is what. Any chance somebody out there can lend a hand in explaining which wires go where? I believe the outer two posts marked + and - are for the switch illumination. Center terminals are labeled NC, NO and C. I am not well versed in wiring and electronics so I have no clue what these mean, but I can follow instructions. Thanks in advance.

Normally Closed: circuit is made until you push the button.

Normally Open: circuit is made when you push the button.

Common: is your ground, or +12v for the circuit, depending on which way you are switching.

The + and - is likely just for the light on the switch.

My thought would be to wire +12v to NO and C goes to the +12v on the valve. When you push the button it will make the circuit activating your valve.

That switch is only good for about 12-15 amps, I doubt a purge valve uses more that that, best to check tho. Use a relay if the valve is near 12 amps.

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.

According to the manuf of the valve it only draws 1 amp at 12v DC.
