Curious if anyone wants to share what they've done as far as wiring switch pros/spods? Debating whether I want to run a big wire from the battery up to the engine, or install the switch pros back by the battery and run a loom of wires up to the engine bay for greater electrical safety.

What are devices you planning to run?

I've doing some wiring diagram research into utilizing existing fuse panels as a power center. I believe I've located the OEM fuse holders, but haven't pulled the trigger on ordering yet.

Front bumper install??

Maybe the slee one at some point, just mounting a transmission cooler and a pair of fans to blow over the intercoolers at low speed. I positioned the fans so that they are behind the part of the grill that blocks the intercooler ducts so that they don't reduce performance at speed.

I'll post details once I get the routing figured out and nice.

I also made a 3d scan of the front.... I'll post it once I convert it to a usable fomat

Not antagonizing (just curious), but why would you have to install these?

Which fuse holders did you find? I was looking at these:

The Aussie groups report intercooler heat soak at low speeds causing loss of power. instead of adding a big heat exchanger, it made more sense to add forced convection since the heat exchangers are quite large

In the context of the 700/LC300 Hybrid:
  • I have multiple 10hour+ trail days at high elevation during summer.
  • I found no cooling concern. Transmission temps maybe crept up to maybe 195-200 during extended slow speed crawl. No lost of power. The motor-generator does wonders to lessen the burden on the ICE.
  • All three days at CruiseMoab, Transmission temps dead nuts at 185. Fins and Things, Wipeout Hill, and Top of the World.

Is this the pan temp or the transfer case temp? Just causal round the town driving gets my pan temp up to 195.

Do you have your transmission thermostat pinned open? That's lower than what I see commuting

Just came back from a ~70 mile drive down the highway, fairly flat, 73 F ambient temperatures. Transmission pan ended up at 203.

I have a bit of an update on this, the PIDs I was using in OBD fusion were out of date so I was getting engine oil temperature mixed up with transmission oil temperature. With he correct PIDs I'm seeing similar temperatures to what you reported on freeway.

Decided to shelve the cooler for the time being since even the hot temperatures I was seeing were not too far above the water temperature. In lieu of additional cooling, I'll probably swap to the synthetic aisin fluid or HPL when it's time to do a drain and fill.
