Do you think we can get the weekends to match up? then we can drag some of the other cruisers down with us to wheel?

that's what i'm hoping for...since the pig guys are talking about colorado next year anyways, i figured the rally could be a meeting point before everyone takes off to go wheeling, but we'll see what the committee has to say.

Let's look at one of these two weekends for the gathering.

Aug. 11-13 or Aug. 18-20.

Is everyone ok with either of the two?

date is set...august 20th. just early enough that people won't be heading back to school yet, late enough that it's not burning hot, but early enough the weather's decent, matches one of the weekends mentioned by the piggie folks, sunday won't interfere with most children's activities (games etc), since it's all day, churchgoers will just be a bit later to the rally, if people head to the hills for a weekend, it doesn't screw that up, cause they can swing by on their way home.

see you all then i hope!!!

Wow, that sounds like a fun trip. At this point I would say to count me in too!!! It would be a blast to run my pig from the San Francisco Bay Area to Colorado...especially since I have never been there. At that time the weather should be great.

Great... I cant believe I read over that and forgot to post...

So lets go for AUG 18-20. If everyone is in agreement then lets secure this weekend and start passing the word.

Bonzai: Your friend near Colorado Springs. Do you think his place is big enough to host the cooking portion of the event. The pig is going to take a long time to cook.

Yes it is big enough.
There have been many a bon fire out there
He is really stoked about the whole idea

In fact he recently built a short dirt track for his hill climb car

And of course still looking into a possible rock course

Cool...

So if you all have anything you want to do for this gathering Im all ears. I mean people are going to be traveling from all over so what do you guys wanna do besides feast upon pitted beasts and hit some trails?

Yeah I want to meet all you guys for sure. I'm really looking forward to coming cross country as well. The pig roast will be awesome we had one for our club upstate cruisers this summer and it was a blast.

Bonzai: Go ahead and inform your friend on the dates and about camping and cooking. Some of us will have to show up early to dig the pits for the cooking. We need to have some good sized stones for cooking too.. about the size of a girls softball and bigger. I will provide the pigs and birds.
Does he have a shop incase we run into problems? Welder, saw..etc?

All: Im open for others to join us. I also am thinking about asking some of the local LJ guys if they might be interested. I intend on bringing the minipigg as well.

We need someone to map out the routes we are going to use. I have yet to be down that way so dont know where to find the best spots.
Also need turn outs for us stockers... and to allow me and others that want to take photo's a chance to get ahead.

i assume you are talking about wheelling trails now. might check out the books by charles wells. there are two, but you will want volume one...that covers denver and south...vol 2 is north and west. also, the newest version has just been republished in the last year and has eliminated trails that are now closed and added other trails
