Hello,

I have a new to me 65 FJ45 SWB removable top. Great truck. I was driving it last night and wondering if steering would be better with smaller wheels? Came with racers 16 in steelies and I have 15 in steelies that I could swap from my 40. The 45 has new suspension 2 1/2, tie rod ends, steering box rebuilt, etc. I can't remember tire size. Thoughts?

Thanks
Jennifer

Tire size dictates steering effort, stay with the 16’s way better tire choices. If you really want to help the steering on a 65, you must go with power steering. On that truck, the least invasive would be electric power steering, pricey, but pretty easy conversion and you can dial in how much assist you want. I doubt it’s worn out components, as that truck is brand new!!!

Thanks @whitey45 ! I had not considered electric power steering. I know racer sells a set up. You are right that the truck is brand new!

Pictures of its new setting please!!!
