This afternoon I dropped off my Land Cruiser at Sparks Toyota in Myrtle Beach to have the TRD supercharger installed. I'll post pictures once I get it back.

+1 for the video...

There is no direct bolt on supercharger available without professional modification.

Meanwhile there is a shop that has TRD supercharger kits already modified from TRD for the LX570 and LC200 but their prices are jacked up a bit. Those would be "direct" bolt on's.

Good luck and please let us know whether you are installing anything else along with it (headers, intake, ECU etc.)

Pics + Sound clips please

Having a hard time holding breath...

I will try today or tomorrow to find the pictures of the TLC200 I had to armor that the orginal engine caught fire so we had a local shop install a new engine and add the SC here.

It looked a little rough around the edges but once the electrical issues were resolved it was pretty fun to play with.

I just called Sparks Toyota, and they are in fact installing the TRD supercharger. Voids all warranty, but who needs warranty on a Cruiser! I'll be interested to hear Igop thoughts on the results. Sparks expects to finish the Cruiser today. And I may be driving my 2009 out next week!

Impressions

The truck is strong and gas mileage was around 24mpg after filling up and driving around town.

The only issue I noticed is that the transmission is a bit slushy and it is more noticable due to the increased power, but IPT will be taking care of that next week.

Overall, I am very impressed and highly recommend the upgrade. The Land Cruiser no longer has to work to accelerate and it feels a lot smoother. Working with Jamie at Sparks was a pleasure and they took great care of me!

Awesome, great to hear you like it. We were very impressed as well with it. Something that big shouldn't be able to move that quickly :)

Very cool! I have a few questions:

- What mods need to be done to the Tundra kit for this to work? Are they pretty simple or complex (in other words, can this be done by someone closer to home that has experience installing the kit on a Tundra)?
- Any idea on before and after power output?
- How long did it take to install?
- And the obvious question, what should I budget for this?

Awesome job!

Overall it took about 20 hours of labor, there is a bit of fabrication that is needed. The Tundra kit is very straight forward and there are easy instructions to follow. That is not the case for the Land Cruiser.

We did our homework and once we had lgop's ride here we were able to do more digging and make it work like it should. For power output I'd say its pretty close to a Supercharged Tundra, it did feel a little heavier but then again it is a little heavier, as well as running with full time 4wd. But I would say it's a lot better than it was before and if you were to put a stock supercharged LC vs a stock supercharged Tundra it'd be a close race. The 5.7 responds very well to the supercharger and runs more efficiently. The top end is AMAZING, but you can feel a big difference in power the second you touch the throttle. :steer:

If done at our shop here we can do it out the door for no more than $8500, that includes the Supercharger, Supercharger Fit Kit, Programmer, Fabrication, Labor, Tax, etc). Besides while you're waiting you can enjoy a little vacation at the beach :D

Just under 78,000. It is so worth it. Just spend the money, you'll thank me.

The brake upgrade I reference under my TRD post also makes a huge difference. Again, money well spent.

This is how the LC200 should have come from Toyota.
