Sunroof rust issue. Thoughts on how to repair?

I received the used sunroof today and installed it. The seal was in great shape and the whole process was really painless. I didn't even snap any of the trim clips. Looks like one finally went my way


I will say that if I would have followed the FSM, I would have been into the headliner and for this job, it wasn't necessary at all.

so I am facing the same issue on my HDJ81 1991 sunroof and reading your post gave me hope. Thanks for the post! But - only used one I can find is $300+ and I am not even sure it is any good.

where did you find the option on the new one? Do you have a link?

Hey any chance you could do a quick write up on this? Looking at a 2007 that’s really clean except for the rust on the sunroof glass and I’d like to see if it’s worth the hassle. Thanks!
